I always wondered if people like Takeo Kensei and Claire would be immortal. The body figure of the "hooded man" who killed Kaito does fit Takeo Kensei well but I don't think he's the person thats worse than the boogeyman that Molly has dreams about.

well we know takeo kensei does have a little bit of "evil" in him b/c the first thing he said after he had come to terms with his power was about how much money he could make. so it wouldn't shock me if he turned out to be the boogeyman.

but I think it's someone we haven't met yet or heard of. and i kinda get the feeling it's going to be a young person with a lot of angst, not an older person. perhaps another kid like molly, but in their late teens to mid 20s? someone that didn't enjoy being experimented on? perhaps a child of one of the members of the organization?

**Hell, I would even go so far to say that it's Peter. He really seemed to enjoy strangling that guy. He's kinda lost at the moment. Who's to say Peter doesn't turn out to be a bad ass, gets around Hiro so he can time travel, and is able to time travel around killing the members (even terrorizing his mom). We know that two heroes that time travel can exist at the same time b/c of last years 5 yrs into the future episode. We know that the boogeyman can be invisible, and can regenerate...a guy like Peter that can absorb powers would be (in my head) a plausible theory.

"evil" is in quotes b/c he's not an obvious bad like a Sylar bad guy...but b/c he does have a streak of greed in him. you don't think greed can make you do nasty things to people? if it is kensei and he can live forever and somehow got involved in the organization--he could've made a lot of money (like they obviously did) and it's all just greed.

i mean Linderman was all about greed was he not? mob guy--wanting to make the world a better place by blowing people up? i mean come on. so is Ms. Petrelli...she's all about political greed.
I mean this show is just as much about showing you the character of people than it is just super powers.

re Kensei being "evil": Assuming that he is immortal, I would think that living for 400 years, watching everyone you ever loved die, and knowing that you are doomed to wander the earth forever could do some fucked up things to a guy's head.

^exactly. first two things he says about his power--it's a curse, and he could make money. hiro's first meeting him was a big disappointment--he sends people out to do his battles for him, he's a drunk, and asshole. his head isn't in the right place--he's not a pure good guy like Hiro.

so if he was the boogeyman, it wouldn't surprise me...but again i think it's someone else.

Wouldn't Peter's counter be Sylar though? They both have ways of acquiring other people's powers. I think if anything, Hiro's "counter" would be worse, because Hiro just comes off as being completely good... he's never had a dark moment (unlike Peter who almost killed that Irish guy). Hiro's opposite would be pure evil.

and no, I don't feel that Sylar is Peter's equal. I don't believe he's actually a hero. He has somehow found a way to alter his genetics to become a hero, but he is not naturally one.

I still think there will be another (eventually) that can absorb powers instead of having to physically steal them.

I'm also starting to think that takeo (or whoever is picking off people) is not actually the boogyman. Heroes thrived last season on "twists" and "surprises"...so to make it so obvious this early on has got to be an attempt at a "MASSIVE PLOT TWIST!!11" about 5 or 6 episodes from now.

Who knows, we could speculate all day about what's going on, and they'll probably do something that no one thought of.

^The problem is that people aren't penalized for making stupid guesses, so there's nothing to stop them from doing so now. Same idea with picks in sports. If people aren't willing to bet anything on it, then there is incentive to spew the craziest BS. If they are wrong, everyone will forget. sylar's power was seeing how things work and how to "correct" their flaws. he used it to see the "flaws" in the other heroes genetics and then used that to gain the powers himself.

agreed, i think they are overdoing the claire story too much and not focusing on more interesting story elements (like peter, i think his story & power is the best)
