earlier this month they released the wire soundtrack. it's pretty cool b/c not only do they have a bunch of memorable quotes, but some of the songs are pretty good.

some noteable rap songs on there are:

there is also a mixtape put out by a local baltimore dj and maybe a rapper too? i dont remember but i have it on my desktop at home

anyway it's music inspired by the wire from predominately local baltimore artists

i thought that article fucking sucked. the "R&B music" thing is weak, and his "Wire-good"/"Wire-bad" analogy is stupid as well.

i do think the pacing of this season feels different than the first 4, but there's a lot of shit they need to cover, and they have two less hours to do so. it definitely feels like the previous seasons had way more character development

im gonna miss this show, wish they would keep up the pace from earlier seasons, but thats what so many series finale seasons do and in the end you are left wanting more. i think with the wire they arent just tying up loose ends, when they kill the series they are really killing it.

i see mcnulty taking this thing into his own hands, and the reporter inventing his story, and think of bayliss at the end of homicide killing the ryland guy... hardworking people who think they are doing the right thing- getting the short end of the stick from the powers that be and imposing themselves on reality.

Scott should've been called out by the black editor dude when he tried to bullshit that Orioles opening day story about the kid in the wheelchair...why didn't he just say "yeah people are fed up with baseball and the steroids"...that guy is a douche

and yeah i'm waiting on 8 also...i watched 1 and 2 before the season started...then i waaaaited and waaaaaited and finally saw ep 3 and 4 on demand...then i watched 5,6,7 from torrent...the 8,9,10 screener dvd has got to be out or has got to be coming out soon

if anybody happened to just catch the end of the Heat Nuggets game, they were talking to Carmelo about the game, his matchups with fellow draft classman Dwayne Wade, etc, and then the announcer is like "tell them about The Wire!" and Melo said it was 90% real and the announcer said it was the best show on television

Little snoopy is a good actress. I don't think ive ever seen anyone play a lesbian role more accurate than her. She makes it look so authentic.
