Not that I know of. It's definitely something that should be addressed in a patch.

You can also find a torrent of the music then put it on your ps3 and play it from there.

thanks for bringing up patching. i was wondering if this game could be patched via online download with today's current technology. older games such as Guilty Gear and SF3 had several updated versions but those had to be purchased as a whole new game altogether.

also, what kind of stuff could we expect to see in a patch for SF4?

Heh. Single most likely thing to happen is that Sagat will be smacked with Ye Olde Nerf Batte.

yes the game could be easily patched. DOA4 for example had some tweaks to characters. id love to see the tournament mode added and MOSTLY add the ability to party up and take turns fighting each other (based on who wins).

I still haven't beaten the game with every character. I just haven't had time to play it enough. Some of that is due to laziness I guess. I hooked up my old SNES to the big screen TV and played some SF Alpha II. It reminded me of how good I am with Akuma. I also played some NHL 94 as well as another Capcom game, Saturday Night Slam Masters.

I fought an El Fuerte player with a near-infinite combo where he dashes, cancels, and goes into his close H. Punch. Anyone else seen this?

After playing some today I thought about the music in all of the SF games. What do you all think is some of the best music in all of the SF games. I think Adon's theme from SFA II is pretty cool.

^^ I would say that the Sagat vs. Ryu theme from SFA2 is one of the best of them all, but that also has largely to do with the atmosphere of the stage itself. I also really like the arranged version of Strange Sunset (Guile's theme) from SFEX+a, and Good Fighter (Ryu's theme) from SF3.

Yes, Fuerte has an infinite this way (forward command-dash, command-cancel, heavy-punch, repeat). In tournaments and such it would be limited to just a few repetitions. It's also really hard to pull off consistently.

Unfortunately, unless you decide to be a cheap whore using this tactic, Fuerte just doesn't deal/withstand enough damage to be especially viable. With his mix-up playstyle (using his splash/grabs out of dash), he's got to out-mindgame the enemy about 5 times more than they have to outplay him.

My favorite Street Fighter tracks would be Ryu, Sakura, Adon, and Rolento in Alpha 2 and most of SFIII: 3rd Strike soundtrack. I really like Guile and Ken's themes from the original SF2 games. Some of the remixes in Street Fighter II HD are pretty good too.

Ok Street Fighter IV is being proclaimed by some as one of if not the best SF game in the series. I think it is great, but I don't know if it is the best. I still haven't unlocked Akuma, Gouken, and Seth. Besides SF IV, I personally like SFA II the best. What do you all think is the best SF game?

^^^most definately not, EA just lost the licensing for marvel games. Also, the ESRB just put out ratings for MvC2 for both xbox360 live and PSNetwork, meaning soon you will be able to download the game which means capcom can produce more copies which means they have the licensing back( yaaaay no more 80 dollar copies of mvc2 for ps2). Also I've heard through the grapevine that we may see an MvC3 sooner than you think, tetsunoko vs capcom came out in japan not long ago and can't be released here because tetsunoko (anime company known for old school 70s/80s hits like casshan and g force) licensed thier various animes to so many companies in the US that it would cost a fortune to release it here, sooooooo the rumor is that it would be much cheaper to just make marvel characters to replace all of the tetsunoko ones.

Actually after posting I pulled up the wiki and was surprised at just how many of the anime's I watched as a kid were tatsunoko like Mach Go Go Go(speed racer, lol at japanese title), Macross(Robotech), Samurai Pizza Cats(ROFL at anyone who has seen this before) and even a bit of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I just can't see how people would think that SF4 is the best of them all. It's quickly becoming my least favorite, but that's mainly due to two things: Guile being so completely ineffective, and the fact that I keep seeing the same things (moves and combos) over and over and over. Hell, I actually like EX+a a lot more than I like SF4, but that's just my opinion.

No, for me, Alpha 2 is the very pinnacle of the Street Fighter universe. Best art, best music, best character variety, best combat system, and best single character in any game they've made yet - nigh-invincible Charlie. Third Strike is also good, but still miles away from Alpha 2.

I've got to admit that I only played SF III a couple of times in the arcade and didn't like it too much. For some reason I was turned off by it after playing the game. I never tried out 3rd Strike and I've never played any variant of the CvS series.

Been playing with Rufus a lot lately. He's pretty good once you get past his look.

I'm losing hope in Guile as well. I picked him up as a secondary character but he's not as dynamic as she should be.

I'm currently just playing Chun Li, Rufus and Abel. with a bit of Fei Long, Akuma and Guile here and there.

I cannot for the life of me beat Abel's Hard Trail Lvl 5. It's stupid hard. I just want his icons

I also tried learning Dhalsim. His combos are super hard to land consistently, and I can't get past how slow he moves.

I know I rant about this a lot, but this is a tremendous understatement. As a diehard Guile player, I'd implore you to go with someone else. Guile is so woefully inept it just makes me want to stop playing this game altogether.

Part of me realizes that this is all part of Capcom's master plan which is just history repeating itself. It can't be too far away before we see some kind of Tournament Edition or Super or Turbo variant of this game.

Or, since this is a game made in an era in which DLC and online consoles exist, they could issue a balance patch/fix so we don't get a ton of Turbo Ultimate Championship Remix editions of this one.

Just hopefully they wouldn't try to charge for it.

I can't imagine that they wouldn't charge for it - this is Capcom we're talking about. LOL. I feel like we'll see an addon pack within 6 months or so, and Capcom will justify the price by adding in more characters. I thought there was a rumor that T.Hawk and Deejay were already in the works to be added into SF4.

Anyway, what would all of you like to see changed about this game, aside from specific character fixes?

- More super moves, or at least the ability to choose which move you want (a la SF3).

- Some kind of punishment for disconnects. I can't count the number of points I'd be up if people weren't such pussies about losing a match.

- Ability to choose alternate music for each stage.

- Fix the match system whereby when attempting to join a match and you are refused, don't waste my time starting the search all over again. Just go back to the last screen of open matches and let me try again. I can manually search again if I want to. (Speaking of, WTF is up with the "unable to join" with no other explanation message?)

- Implementation of a tournament/bracket system.

- Ability to watch other people play.

- Whenever hosting a new match, I need some kind of audio notification when someone has come into the room. It typically takes long enough that I'm gonna sit there and read something while I wait, so having a sound for when the other person is ready would be good.

Eh... I'll reserve judgment until I get a chance to try it. It's nice that it's free. Still, though, no character changes.

The one truly good thing I see in this is something in place to hopefully decrease the number of pussies disconnecting/quitting during a match. I am way beyond tired of seeing this.

wouldn't having a "nigh-invincible" character be bad?

I tried out championship mode last night. It's ok. The double-blind character select should've been in ranked match.

Hmmm I just noticed that you can charge up your ultra meter by absorbing fire balls with a FA and then dash cancelling. I just watched a match where someone did an ultra combo with 75% of their life.

Only when you're fighting against him.

It's really like the opposite ends of the spectrum. You got Alpha 2 where Charlie has an exceptional moveset, is almost impossible to crossup, and has priority from hell, and then you've got SFIV Guile who has none of these things and is glaringly deficient when compared to others in each category. It's just extremely frustrating since Guile and Charlie are my primary interests in playing this game, and I just don't care for the other characters much.

Championship mode sucks, I can't tell you how many times I got to the last round only to fight a zangief with 1 red bar for lag and doing nonstop laggy lariates(sp??) from some asshole who is purposely lagging his connection with a wireless AP or downloading torrents at the same time or some shit, its so gay, it happened to me like 5 times all with different people...

why is Guile's ultra so fucking weak? Come to think of it, why is Guile so weak? He was my MAIN MAN in parts 2 and 3, and in this game, his jump fucking sucks, his ultra is weak as fuck, and I can't seem to do any sort of good damage with him. I can't fucking stand the way they made him in Street Fighter 4. He's so much more underpowered than he was in the good old eyes, and his weaknesses are so glaring and ridiculous that it isn't hard for even the scrubbiest player to lay waste to him. What were they thinking?
