Lesson of the game: Stop dicking around at the top of the key and get the ball down low.

Force them to try to stop our front court.

Glad we got the W and on the road, just if we don't stop it with these close games my hair's gonna turn gray, haha. Still waiting for a dominating performance one of these games before ACC play.

Too bad we have all these cupcakes before UNC. Lowe needs to set of a goal of beating these teams by 15-20+ points so we don't become softer before the big game.

couldnt watch the game but it sounds like costner is still sucking it up. do we have enough scholarships to keep him when no one in the NBA wants him this year?

Also, it would be good for either javi or johnson to

1. Learn to take the drive when the defense is overplaying you and out of position
2. Run the pick and roll

Neither have degand's driving or 3 point shooting gumption.

it was an ugly win, and I wish our team was more dominant, but I like the fact that we arent a "one trick pony" team and on any given night we can have a different player lead our team to victory - Grant, Fells, Hickson, Costner, McCauley

and I think Marques Johnson leap-frogged Javi Gonzalez for the starting PG job tonight

Javi's going to have to shoot the fucking ball at some point

I know his percentage sucks ass, but he should at least try a wide open shot once in awhile

well, johnson has no problem driving. he just kindof, gets blocked.

i thought it was fine though, whatever. i'm not going to wake up in a cold sweat over it. it's certainly not as bad as everyone here thinks it is.

Definitely not as bad as the crybabies are making out to be. Guys just need game experience and the confidence that comes with that -- there's no way around it.

the espnU commentators were saying that Javi was "known as a good shooter" out of high school...if thats the case, why is he so gun shy?

costner fucking sucked. I didn't mind javi and marqees. I thought they played as well as you could want considering the situation.

But... FUCK GOTTLEIB... Every time he said "the hall" I wanted to beat my fucking TV in.

one GREAT positive of that game is they beat the shit out of that press.. i think our team is about used to it now.

and with a couple of PGs that are suspect1!

Javi and Marques played relatively well considering their experience. they'll adjust. i think they will do us good if they can hustle.

Yep, the best thing javi and johnson can do to make an immediate impact is play hard on defense. The offensive game will come in time.

We better hope Johnson learns how to play basketball because Gonzalez has no hope. The kid can't shoot, is slow as hell, and is a turnover machine. Johnson looked like shit but he appears to have the slightest bit of upside. Gonzalez is not an ACC caliber point guard, he's MOD all over again.

maybe the cast fucks up his shot and he will get better once he loses it

for anyone who has watched all of our games that shit was fucking HUGE! I think that win may be the game that could get us to the big tourney for sure. We beat that ass without our starting PG. Things are looking up IMO.

haha, I remember when that one guy was Julius Hodge.

He'd run that play where he'd rub the top of his head... then he goes right... then left... then TURNS THE BALL OVER

I hated that one.

but most of the time, he would drive and get a layup or foul. so they kept running it

He is less than 20% on FGs and has more turnovers than assists. Number don't lie. Speed is relative but if fucking Eugene Harvey was running circles around him and scored 20 points, I shudder to think what the likes of Lawson or Singletary will do against him. Keep the blinders on though. This team still has huge problems.

seriously, why do people shit on gonzalez so bad?

i dont think he's terrible, he and johnson are both better than that grant/fells PG combo we had last season.

give them time, gonzalez has less than 15 collegiate games under his belt and johnson saw his first action of the season against a team that likes to play helter skelter basketball

m johnson had a few great layups and assists out there today

i think he deserves the starting job for now. but if gonzalez can make a few clutch shots and lose his cast i think we will survive, but right now i hope johnson becomes our standout guard.. we need somebody like that so it opens up the inside more

Congrats on your ability to look in the past and state the obvious. We don't have a PG with experience -- not shit that's a problem. What do you want to do -- cry about it?

Now, how about trying to look in the future. Javi's performance is normal for a true freshman who just started his first fucking game at point guard.

No NCSU point guard this year will have notable numbers because we are not running offense through them. If you are looking for big PG stats, you are an idiot. Lowe is not asking them to do the same things he asked Atsur to do for good reason. Once they show lowe something in practice or in the game, he'll call more plays for them. Instead of crying about the problem, Lowe is trying to work around it.

Degand was our best PG and did the most because he was in Lowe's system the longest. Most of the PG problems are related to lack of experience, something that will get better over time -- contrary to your chicken little crybaby blathering.
