Wow you all are getting worked up over an over the hill receiver? He won't be the same Muhsin he was before. He is not talented enough to be a #2 WR anymore, maybe a solid slot #3. Jarrett really needs to pan out. This team still has 8-8 written all over it. 2/27/2008 5:08:45 PM |

Any improvement right now is something to feel positive about. Bringing Moose back home is a step in the right direction. He is a tall legit threat. He may not have the burst, big game ability of old but he can bail a QB out of trouble with his size and hands. I agree our younger wr need to up the game and earn a paycheck more consistently, but at least we have stepped up to bring our QB's a target.
Quote : | "I can't see them picking up a QB unless there is an absolute steal available...that would put 3 young QB's on the squad after they've stated that they've been very happy with the 2 they already have.....getting a vet via free agency i could see tho. " |
Your right. Was not thinking and did not take time to look up QB status

We shouldn't be expecting 90+ catches, but I think he can be a solid #3 (similar to what proehl was in his last few years here), and a valuable asset on 3rd downs. He's also got a great relationship with Jake/Smitty, a very good locker room presence and he's probably still one of the top 5 blocking WR's in the league, which will really help the run game.

Wesley, 28, agreed to a deal worth less than $1 million a year to stay with the Panthers. Two years ago, he tested the free agent market by going to the Chicago Bears but only stayed one season.
He returned to the Panthers last year and revived his role as a key backup in the secondary. Wesley has started only two games in six years but none since 2003.

Hmmm, reworked Lucas, resigned Wesley and Marshall is still locked up for a while.....wonder if that is a sign of things to come for Gamble's future here? I don't know that I would be opposed to trading him if we can get something decent in return, but CB depth is a good thing to have too. 2/28/2008 2:37:36 PM |

According to ESPN, the Panthers is close to trading Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a 3rd round pick. Damn, they should have traded him last year. They could have got a 2nd round pick. 2/29/2008 1:32:24 AM |

Kris Jenkins is going to the Jets for a 3 and 5th round pick. Seems like a move to free up some cap space since he was due a 1 mil bonus next week. I hope Damione Lewis can step it up next season.

no i do not prefer colbert. im hoping to god we release him, but dj hackett is not seattles best receiver when healthy. the guy has never even played a full season.

We've got 3 good cover corners for that, and making receivers scared to go over the middle in the first place with bone jarring hits is the best kind of cover.2/29/2008 2:05:26 PM |

bingo, you put the 2 best corners in the league on a team that doesn't pressure the QB and they'll get burned every time. Look how good the dominant pass rush made NY's DBs look in the SB against Brady....and they're average at best.
Harris was stellar last year with a 2nd string FS, and McCree was great playing opposite Minter in the down turn of his career. The two together would make TEs and slot WRs shit their pants, not to mention that both are good in run support.2/29/2008 2:31:46 PM |
