I don't blame him for that. It was a crappy shot sure, but one he had to take because nobody else was set up. And you know Sid didn't have a play designed for Javi to hit the game-tying 3. Somebody blew that play.

horrible end of game play. Why can't we get the ball to playmakers at the end of the game?

He could have swung it back to Fells who was wide open, but yeah, I can't blame him for taking the shot. That was a terrible miss though.

that was pathetic

that wasn't just an airball that he shot too hard with adrenaline at the end of the game or too short being nervous; that was at least 2 or 3 feet left of the rim and way too short

almost like the ball slipped or something; unfortunately for him it did not look like the ball slipped at all

he is shot for the rest of the year

yeh, they had a couple bad plays - I saw two walks there at the end. However, I am just glad we didnt get blown out. We need to play McCauley more.

think about how bad Gonzalez feels. the kid walked right off the court at the end of the game. don't ride him too hard.

I don't think this is true. He scored a lot in transition where he would get someone on his hip, or from the foul line. He doesn't have much speed, but he played the off speed pause, quick burst really well. It wasn't that he scored 30 which killed us as much as it was our poor/horrible execution from 3:20ish to the end.

gonzalez had a good game save the last play and getting beat on the defensive end a couple times.

he got dicked over at the end. someone screwed that up. i guarantee you he wasn't supposed to take that shot.

We had all the momentum in the world most of the 2nd half but just like every close game we've been in this year we can't build a lead and keep it. This team has a weird mix of Chuck Amato's play to the level of your competition and Herb's inability to come up with a last second shot to win the game (remember the last game against GT Herb coached where we didnt get a shot off till like 2 seconds left and Gavin threw up some shit similar to what Javi did today. Anyone remember Jordan Collins taking a last second 3 to try to win a game at the RBC?) I will give Sid credit for good coaching in the Miami finish though...

Oh and the officiating was horrible.

I believe they were trying to run the same play that got Fells open to tie the game at the end of regulation last week, and Javi's defender bit on that which left him open. Shame he could not knock down the shot, but what are you gonna to do?

I highly doubt that was the play that was called up...but you can't be too unhappy with a wide open three-pointer by your point guard who should be confident after a decently played game...AND he hit a three earlier in the game.

But holy shit what a horrible shot. Its almost like he thought he was still moving to the left when he shot the ball. He could have taken an extra second to set himself and take that shot.

But holy shit what a horrible shot.

I'd like to go back and watch the tape of both games. Even if it was not the called play that appeared to be what they at least ad libbed.

Yeah I saw it...and I know he stopped and took a little bit of time to set up the shot...but he could have used an extra second. Its a kid who has been playing like the worst PG in the ACC and he has a last second shot to tie in an ACC game at home in front of close to 20,000 rabid NC State fans...he could have used a little bit more time.

i'll quote myself from page 1, highlighting what might be the causes for us to lose this game.

I hate being right.

Regardless of whatever Lowe drew up for a last second shot...that was our PG with a WIDE OPEN look to tie the game. Most of the time i would say that is an ideal situation for a last second shot. I don't blame him for missing the shot, but to miss it in that fashion is just unacceptable.
