Agreed. That whole scene in the mailroom was genius. The part where he asks the imaginary guy to give Mac a smoke had me on the floor.

just watched it.
o.m.g..... what a great half-hour of TV. brilliant. All 3 plotlines were great

Although, I imagine Frank's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest bit was a little older than their target demographic

Frank's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest bit was great. While I was watching, I was sitting there thinking...he was in that movie, right? Had to go check imdb.com to confirm my suspicions.

haha, really? I do not remember his character.
But when i saw the nurse, I immediately thought "ha, they're doing a Nurse Ratchet thing", then they showed the Indian and I knew they were going all out.
Movie was from 1976.... 32 damn years. Crazy.
I didn't realize DiVito was 64 years old. For such a short, ugly, unhealthy little man, he actually looks pretty good for his age!

I'm watching on Hulu so I'm an episode behind. Rationalizing Charlie's behavior was awesome.

I read the review of the episode on avclub.com and the guy that played Chief in this show is related to the actual Chief from OFOTCN.

franks "one flew over" thing was just stupid

just showing things similar to a movie isnt funny

rest of the ep was great

"this is the least important, i burn it, if it is important enough, they will send it again
this is the medium importance, i address it to myself and send it out to give me more time
this is the most important, i deliver this, although sometimes i burn that too"

it doesn't matter if it was parodying, or outright copying, Cuckoo's Nest - it was funny anyway.
The fact that it was a direct parody, and that Danny DiVito happened to be in that movie 30 years ago, just made it better as an inside-joke.

i may be the only one who watched John Adams

but Mac with the wooden teeth sounded like he doing a "Paul Giamatti as John Adams" impression. i mean almost exactly like that.

you know a show is amazing when you laugh out loud, almost to tears, just reading a thread on the internet about it

i forgot some of the stuff from "living like charlie", and reading it here again, really just the part about frank running in, has me rolling again

where does this rank in the "all time sitcoms" list

its clearly the best sitcom on the air right now, but i consistently think it may be best ever if it gets another season of greatness...

Yeah awesome episode. The entire home invasion had me rollin. Charlie actually sounded a lot like Ty.

Can't believe the season is already over next week, I know cable seasons are short, but since it is only a half hour show you think they could have done a few more.

well for some fucking reason, the first 1/2 of the season they were doing 2 new ones per week, which made the season go by really fast.

they have ordered 39 additional episodes for 2 more seasons, though, meaning at least S5 and 6 will be 19-20 episodes each

^They were filling the timeslot for Testees with Sunny for the first three weeks or so, I think.

Also, the last episode was outstanding. I was in already in tears laughing when they "took over" the house.

i hate that they've latched on to recurring gimmicks

the show was much better when the show gag/themes were self contained in my opinion

except for mac banging the tranny

that was an excellent reintroduction of a character/plot line
