I loved when he chucked the brick to get into the tv store, just the entire over the top dramatic stuff they make Randy do
but not as good as him fighting other dads at baseball games for sure 4/18/2008 6:54:09 AM |

come on south park 4/23/2008 10:30:04 PM |
titans78 All American 4038 Posts user info edit post |
um.. that was not very funny, the movie parody is getting old, the cartman / butters setup had great potentially but was lame, and the BK thing wasn't funny but just stupid. I'd expect them to have robbed something stupid, but common.
5/10? I mean yeah compared to TV in general, but as Southpark goes that is one of the worst episodes ever, I don't think I really laughed once. 4/23/2008 10:37:31 PM |

goddamn it you people act like they havent been doing movie parodies almost since they started
tonight was hilarious. i figured the robbers were some kind of movie, but i didnt know what and didnt care. the old timey guys staying in character and the robbers robbing a fucking burger king were both money.
edit: and i'm not trying to be one of those rabble rousers where you can never say anything bad about the show. this seasons has been kinda weak. but last week and this week were money. the non-heavy metal parts of the cheezin episode were good. alot of the mouse penis ep was good and i had never seen the movie. that wga ep was good and i didnt even get it. it was funny just based on the canadians thing
the britney ep was pretty weak and the aids was a little over the top, but the rest of the eps have had at least SOME redeeming qualities

I love this show, but tonight was a 6/10. A few chuckles, and it gave me that sense of pride to be in on the in-jokes, but this was a real sigh of an effort. 4/23/2008 11:09:28 PM |

i didnt get any of the in jokes, at first i thought they were trying to do toy soldiers

^ and I'm glad for it. It was getting played out. I enjoyed tonight's episode simply because they're starting to mover away from the movie parody bullshit. Not spectacular but definitely a step in the right direction. 4/24/2008 2:36:48 AM |

The Die Hard part wasn't a big deal, I'm sure that they just decided to do a hostage episode and then someone had the idea model the terrorists after the ones in Die Hard. It's not like it was a major plot point.
Overall I thought that it was a pretty good episode, of course I've been to way too many historic sites with reenactors. 4/24/2008 2:42:24 AM |

they guy flipping the burger contents as if it was cash was hilarious, other than that, it was meh...
when the guys first entered the complex, i thought it was going to be a ripoff of the texas rangers taking the kids from the polygamist compound and the adults were going to stay in character and sound so out of whack similar to the polygamists we've seen on TV...when stan was making the phone call, i thought it was going to be akin to the hoax call that started the polygamist fiasco in the first place 4/24/2008 3:07:21 PM |

so this is kind of a new episode on now
my DVR starting recording and i was like wtf? and comedy central is airing the imaginationland trilogy as one episode right now, as a new program so my DVR picked it up.
and for whatever reason it is airing in widescreen, which is kind of funny
i'm not sure if they have aired it like this before

I enjoyed it. As soon as they showed the "Indiana Jones" marqee I laughed my ass off, as well as the parodies of all the movie rape scenes.
The Chinese takeover was meh, Cartman wasn't in top form, but the "You don't shoot a guy in the dick" had me going pretty good. 10/9/2008 12:19:13 AM |

One was from Deliverance and one was from a Jodie Foster movie whose title I cannot remember. There was another rape scene that might be from something else that I don't recognize. 10/9/2008 12:47:54 AM |
