Been using Chrome on my netbook. I use logmein a lot and the full screen feature on Chrome sucks ass compared to FF. Like on chrome when you fullscreen the ONLY option at the top of the screen is click to return to windowed. Whereas FF has a hidden dropdown menu with all the buttons. Plus the logmein plugin for chrome isn't as well integrated as with FF. Still use FF on my desktop though. With adblock and FF 3.6 i don't really notice a difference in speed compared to chrome. FF uses less ram than Chrome, but Chrome separates tabs into processes which works better when a site crashes. I like certain features of both.

Firefox has been fucking up the past week for me (going slower than normal, crashing multiple times, etc). Just an issue with 3.6.3, potential virus directed at firefox or should I just switch over to crhome?

The latest stable release was on 10 June, which was quite a while ago; anyway the great thing about the latest version of Firefox is that if Flash crashes, it doesn't take the browser with it.

Firefox 4: We ripped off Chrome's UX and threw it into a much slower product.

It will be interesting if Firefox 4 can stop the slow death of Firefox as Chrome eats away at it's market share.

Speaking of slow death, it would be nice if FF4 took less than 20 seconds to boot

Old chart is old.

Realistically, Firefox is stagnant in share and while that may change with FF4, they're fighting an uphill battle.

trying to break their previous record of 8 million in 24 hours....

http://glow.allizom.org/

funny thing is that Europe is 50% of the downloads.... probably because of the IE fiasco?

Well, it's noon and they're about 3/4 of the way to a million...

So it's not looking good on the whole record breaking effort, though it does seem they're about about 7k a minute right now, which might get them close.

Dammit, if you right click a link to open it in a new tab, they swapped the order of the new tab vs new window positions. I'm opening new windows all over the place. Why change that?

You guys don't just control-click? Opens it in a new tab. Right clicking is for losers.

no I think they meant when you right click on a link the open in new windows/open in new tab switched places.

I like firefox 4. Seems faster and got rid of several unnecessary menu bars, most of my plugins still work.

That fiasco is probably why Firefox is the most popular browser in Europe.

also a few extensions still haven't been updated to work with Fx4 final and still require Fx4 beta, I think Microsoft's HTML5 video extension is like that

try fishing around in about:config for settings related to WebGL

Also IE9 does not support WebGL, and it also doesn't work well with Chrome Frame

Just downloaded FF4 and I like everything except the new "awesome bar." I used to be able to type a key word(s) in the bar and it would take me directly to the site (tww, espn, amazon, etc). Now it just pops what I typed into a google search and takes me there. Anyone else notice this or know of a way to change it?

The phrase "Awesome Bar" isn't new: It has been kicking around for about 3 years, since Firefox 3 was in beta.

I think he meant the new version of the awesome bar, and it was in quotes because he was being sarcastic. That's how I read it at least, lol.
