Definitely move Chris Brown to your do not add list...

I personally add Vince Young, Willis McGahee, and Larry Johnson to my list...
To many other good players at those positions to want one of those...

Who would you start?

Mushin Muhammad or Vincent Jackson. Leaning towards Moose since Smitty is suspended...

also

Ryan Grant (vs MIN) or DeAngelo Williams (vs SD).

for page 6:

Quote :
"If anybody wants in on a league, I've got a couple of slots open.....Some of the basics:

$25 entry fee (covers league upgrade and $125 - $175 first place prize....I could also break it down where 2nd and 3rd get their $ back if the majority of people want that)

PPR league with per game total yardage bonuses for QB, RB and WR.

defensive shutouts 30 pts

3 week, 6 team playoff format with top two reg season seeds having a 1st round bye.

Right now, the draft is live in Yahoo, set for 9/3 @ 9:00pm, but can be changed if needed

If you're interested, send a PM.""

Only a little over a day till draft time. Right now there are 6 signed up, with multiple others who may or may not join....First come first served, so if you want in, let me know.

man, I thought for sure you would take that trade. Housh is only projected to score about 10 more points than Cotchery this year and Curtis is a top 25 WR once he comes back

^^projections will get you in trouble....I prefer past performance, and as much as I like J cotch, he's gotta show me more before I give up a proven WR in a contract year.

plus, I'm trying to drop a roster spot to open up a slot for a kicker

Derrick Mason
Devin Hester (get points for return yards and touchdowns)
Ted Ginn Jr.

RB:
Clinton Portis

Congrats, you got the 2 most unpredictable QB's in the league. They are just as likely to throw 4 interceptions as 4 touchdowns, and there's no telling when they are gonna lay a turd. Good luck with those 2.

yea there was a fire sale on QB's quite early and I figured Anderson was a decent pick where I got him at. Picked up Kitna really really late as a back up. Hopefully I wont have to depend too much on them with the way the rest of my squad is looking

J. Garcia is still available though. Should I scoop him up and drop say Ginn Jr? Or is that more of a lateral move. I figure Garcia is not going to go nuts as far as points are concerned but he is pretty consistent

Edge was just fine last year behind the shitty Arizona o-line

Well, he was one of the only backs to register 300 carries last year.

Assuming the O-line is improved from last year, which would be impossible not to have gotten better...

this year could be his swan song.

I am going on the record as saying I actually like Edge as a 3rd RB and wouldn't be surprised at all to see him have an above average season.

his first year in Arizona was disappointing but last year he was ok...the 300 carries thing if anything shows he is durable...plus he's the starting RB and the goalline RB

I heard Edge was going to get 2/3 of his carries from last year and Hightower could get the goal line carries.

yeah, I would look around for another RB depending on how deep your league is and how many RBs start/size of bench and drop Olsen.

You never ever ever need to carry two TEs outside of bye weeks

I started to think that my "gut" feeling for Edge must be wrong after the response here. ESPN's projections even had him with pretty solid numbers. The written outlook however verbalized most of my concerns better than I could

Quote :
"On the surface, James' 2007 numbers look good: 1,224 yards (seventh in the NFL, and his fifth straight year with more than 1,000) and seven rushing touchdowns. But Edge's yards-per-carry average was below 4.0 (3.8, to be precise) for the second straight year, and by season's end, coach Ken Whisenhunt regularly replaced him in short-yardage situations with Marcel Shipp and on third downs with J.J. Arrington. In other words, warning signs abound: James will be the "magical" age of 30 this season, his longest run in 2007 was 27 yards, and only four times did he break a carry for 20 yards or more. James still looks like the starter, but Arizona drafted Tim Hightower, who scored 23 touchdowns as a senior at Richmond and could steal some goal-line touches. Edge's best days are clearly behind him."

http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/tools/projections?display=alt&leagueId=32311&scoringPeriodId=0&slotCategoryId=2&start=16

So I still think hes a toss up and not a dependable 3rd back.

cool deal thanks for the responses guys

Ahman green is still available so I'll probably scoop up him

Also available
Dashaun Foster
Dominic Rhodes
Kevin Jones
Aaron Stecker

Out of those Green looks to be the best even though he will be in a RBBC situation. But Edge as a 3rd RB I kinda have the same feeling as Panthro does. The O-line HAS to have gotten better.

YOU HAVE TO TAKE A TOP WR OR QB IN THE 2nd RD. Trust me.

I dont mean to sound like a homer, but I would hold onto Ginn Jr. for at least a week or two. The Dolphins are pretty high on him, he's their #1 receiver this year and their punt/kick returner. Plus, the Dolphins have a little bit better of a QB situation going into this season.

I have a feeling that he could wind up being a solid #3 or even #2 WR this season.

I don't think I've ever seen Romo last past the end of the 2nd in a 12 man, which is 24, so you certainly shouldn't expect it.

love it.

first 4 picks are studs.

not sure what your format is, but if you start 3 wr's and 2 rb's, you should consider dropping a RB and adding one more WR

14 rds is kinda odd...

no backup QB either?

overall, I love the draft, but you might want to focus more on WR and QB depth.

2 rbs, 2 wrs, 1 rb/wr

1 point per reception, .5 point per completion

i might need qb depth but hopefully just for one week

the top players receivers available according to yahoo are:

jerry porter, bryant johnson, derek mason, isaac bruce, reggie williams...ted ginn is also available

top backs are norwood, kevin jones, betts...no thrills there either

still some good defenses out there if i want to drop green bay:

baltimore, indy, tampa, philly, buffalo, carolina

any ideas?

So pick:

Roy Williams @ ATL
or
Derrick Mason vs. Cin

Should I start:

S. Young (@ Oak)
W. McGahee (Cin)
R. Williams (NyJ)

McGahee's got a good match-up, but probably won't be 100%....I'm leaning Willilams to ride the wave from the preseason.

I think Selvin will surprise a lot of people this year, and especially this game against Oakland.

With Marshall out, I expect Cutler to throw dump passes to Selvin early and often.

If your league is a PPR, it's a no brainer, start Young.

Even if it isn't, Selvin is the only one of those 3 who wont be in a ~50/50% split this week.

(Ronnie should be fine for MIA, and McGahee is going to get a really light load.)

I say start Selvin Young.

Selvin might not be splitting 50/50, but it looks like he'll only get a couple carries more than Hall, and Hall is likely to get the red zone carries.
