No it was only the family talking about her - no other questions - and when the press tried a few times the CPD stopped it.

WRAL just said that the girls have been switched from Brad's custody to Nancy's family for custody. They said it was not a police doing, but rather a civil matter that had nothing to do with the investigation.

Quote :
"Cary, N.C. — The family of a missing Cary woman whose body was found Monday in an undeveloped subdivision is seeking custody of her two young daughters from the husband.

In a petition filed in Wake County Wednesday afternoon, Nancy Cooper's parents, Garry and Donna Rentz, and sister, Krista Lister, claim Cooper's husband, Brad Cooper, has a history of emotional instability and that in the months prior to her death, he engaged "in a pattern of emotional abuse" at Cooper and the children.

They also claim he attempted suicide as a teenager, and threatened to commit suicide in the "winter of 2008."

"Because of the intense scrutiny he is currently facing in the ongoing criminal investigation, there is a substantial risk of bodily injury to the children while in the defendant's custody," they said in the claim.

Cary police Chief Pat Bazemore said at a news conference Wednesday morning that Cooper's family already has custody of the children, but it was unclear whether that is temporary or permanent. The filing indicates a July 25 hearing on the matter.

"I want to stress this custody issue is a private civil matter between Nancy's family and Brad," Bazemore said. "Any information that comes from this civil matter will be considered by our investigators as we move forward in this case."

Bazemore said they still have no suspects or persons of interest in the 34-year-old stay-at-home mom's death and that Brad Cooper is cooperating with investigators.

Brad Cooper told police his wife went out for a jog on the morning of July 12 but never returned. A concerned friend called 911 when she failed to show up for a meeting later that afternoon.

Rentz and Lister say in the filing that Brad Cooper never reported his wife missing and never contacted them to inform them of her disappearance. They say they do not believe based on the information they have received, that Cooper ever went jogging.

Brad Cooper told WRAL News the day after his wife disappeared that the couple had been having marital problems. Cary police also confirmed that during a news conference on Monday.

Wednesday's court filing claims Brad Cooper was having a sexual relationship with another woman prior to Cooper's death and that Nancy Cooper retained counsel in March to "resolve all pending issues, including child custody related to her impending separation form the defendant."

The Rentzes and Lister also claim Brad Cooper withheld fund and refused to provide adequate financial support to his wife and the children.

She was in "such desperate financial situation that she was forced to borrow funds from Plaintiffs to purchase groceries and necessaries for herself and the minor children," the petition reads.

I don't like how they put everyone's business out in the streets like that.

If this guy is innocent, his life is over anyways.

I'm just saying they are throwing his mental history out there when hopefully he has moved passed suicidal feelings/tendencies.

They have just told a lot more than they need to in this case. Back in the day, we wouldn't know all this shit.

hm, makes me wonder was she a good housewife as far as chores and such. i can't see this guy doing this without a reason. if he did, then oh well, but he might have felt like he did not have the respect that a father should have or something. who knows.

That "withheld funds" thing is a load of bull. Nancy was the number 1 customer at our store. Never once did she come in there looking like she was on a budget.

Read it again retard. It's not the police that are saying this, his In-Laws are saying he is emotionally unstable, suicidal, and broke. You think CISCO will really let him come back to his job if he is cleared of any wrongdoing??? This dude is fucked.

I am sure he will be welcomed back with open arms after this information was released by the court

He was likely a normal guy enjoying a six-figure salary as a CCIE. If he is cleared of the charges, and even if Cisco takes him back, he is forever labeled as a suicidal, depressed, emotionally abusive miser to his peers and subordinates.

Statistically, it's usually a family member in cases like this with missing people, not random thugs. The police very likely were eyeing him from day 1.

and that's what i've been hollerin.

let's look at what we know:

(1) husband was having sex with another woman
(2) the wife hired an attorney for separation/custody proceedings, and planned to take the children
(3) husband was already a borderline basket case, with history of suicide attempts and threats

...

(4) wife goes missing and turns up dead shortly before separation/custody battle is to take place

...

(5) husband says "what? i ain't seen her"

come on, people. this is straight out of the FBI homicide investigation handbook. Chapter 1.

Universal. I don't know a ton about that certification, but I'm guessing he would get about $150,000/year no matter where he worked.

i am sure more than 600 people can do it. only 600 really means nothing. its harder to become a chess grandmaster than anything i know of. thats a real title to earn for anyone. no amount of training of education can make you a chess grandmaster. its helps however.

There are less than 600 people who have that particular cert. in the world, that's all I know. There are more than 1,000 chess grandmasters. They are both highly specialized in their fields of expertise.

Having limited technical knowledge, it would be easier for me to become a chess grandmaster than a VoIP CCIE. It's two very different things.

hahaha just about anyone (i mean smart-relatively) cold probably get that cert, i would be anything in my possession that you know of no one (except me maybe ) that has the ability to even make a 2000 rating in chess or more, which is not even close to being a gm. books and classes are shit when it comes to chess. they help low rated players, but after a certain level nothing can prepare you to be a gm except your geometry of the mind.

The CCIE is considered to be the networking equivalent to a doctorate. People generally spend years working towards it, but you can pretty much guarantee a six figure salary when you have it. There are close to 20,000 CCIEs in the world iirc, but it the VoIP test is one of the less popular ones.
