I have to be honest....knowing that the playoffs is all about pitching, I am not super confident right now about our pitching staff. Joba has been shaky, Andy P has some issues with his shoulder, AJ has been just down right bad lately....CC is the only pitcher in the rotation that has been solid. I am hoping that things change soon....Still the best record in baseball, but if we don't win it all it will be a disappointment in my mind.

ya the nationals 2nd basemen just threw it home and took the catcher off the plate so the run scored and nobody was out.

I would think the idea would be to just get the 2 outs because you have three outs to go and even if you get the guy out at home you would still have a winning run in scoring position with 1 out as opposed to tie game with 2 outs.

so I think it's a great sign that we won the last season series from the Angels since we will probably be playing them to decide who goes to the WS.

Boston in Fenway this weekend....a sweep would be nice, but another 2 out 3 road series win would do just fine.

I pick the Yankees in 5 and here's why:

Cliff Lee vs Sabathia in game 1 - I like the matchup with Sabathia having had less of a layoff than Lee since he last pitched. I think he will be sharper and have the crowd on his side. Also, Lee is a command and change-speeds guy, which means he should be more affected by the cold weather than a power guy.

Pedro vs. Burnette in game 2: I think this one goes to the Yankees as well. The crowd will be all over pedro, and he doesnt have the stuff he once did. Yankees take this one easily.


Game 3 - Hamels vs. Pettite: As good as Hamels was last year, he has been very hittable this year, and Pettite is on fire. Yankees up 3-0


Game 4 - I'm assuming a 4 man rotation here. Phillies will clobber Gaudin. 3-1 Yankees.

Game 5 - Rematch of game 1 with CC on regular rest going for the kill...I think he puts them away.

Yanks in 5.
