although i did respect david's opinion i often wondered if he was even a fan of nascar racing. he didnt like the new bristol, plate racing, road coarse racing and the COT. got the feeling he wouldnt be watching it if it wasnt his job to.

i enjoyed reading poole as well.

they will never do anything to the tracks. helton has said as much that they are the most exciting races on the circuit. i like the current package with how you can draft up to the front.

i think everyone needs to calm down. cars can hit the catch fence at any track, not just dega or daytona. racing will never be completely safe no matter how much they try

The reason they put restrictor plates on was after Bobby Alison ended up in the fence at the '87 taladega race. Taking them off now may not be the easy solution.

bristol is fine. they can actually pass. they just need to put less cars out there. 43 is too many for half a mile.

darlington still has good racing, but they only give it one race now. rockingham was great, but it's out.

now they're gonna do like IRL and tell drivers they can't block. they've already got the rear wings, so when are they gonna widen the tires and knock off the fenders and become indy #2? it's just as boring now.

i'm beginning to find myself switching over to late model races on SPEED during the cup races now. ARCA is good too.

ARCA like truck racing is fun to watch cause the rookies are always tearin shit up. the CUP guys shouldnt be able to race in the truck series either.

I fell asleep during Bristol do to the lack of excitment, its been a boring race for the last 2 years. and ticket sales are down because of it. maybe the economy alittle but come one fans want to watch bump and runs all day.

the richmond race tonight was good. lots of good side by side racing.

anybody wanna get together this summer and go out to wake county speedway? it's about the only local track left. southern national is still closed, along with wayne county. apparently orange county reopened in 2006. i think jacksonville is still open.
