Could Wood be any worse than Fells at this point? Could Williams/Horner/Thomas be any worse than Costner next year? 3/1/2009 9:40:50 PM |

Costner turned the ball over way too much, but also had 8 rebounds. Overall, a shitty game for him. Smith's a beast, Javi played alright, Ben decided to show up, Degand was meh, and Horner was sporting some fine-ass muttonchops.
We're NIT bound. 3/1/2009 9:42:24 PM |

How many freshman in the country are averaging 10+ ppg at the high major level? Especially those that aren't even TOP recruits? There is your answer...

Costner lacks intensity and focus.
He can shoot the 3. He gets on the boards alright. He can get some points in the paint. He makes some inspired passes.
But there are too many instances in which he makes mental errors. And not like little lapses, but long, drawn-out errors that last several minutes, like he's got a disability or something.
I'm just sayin. 3/1/2009 9:46:11 PM |

Can't wait for the season to be over. These are just completely uninspiring games. Players are sloppy, we can't shoot and we lack aggressiveness.

I like how you say he lacks intensity and focus, then list skills that require intensity and/or focus. Not to mention that Costner exhibits none of those skills.

Reread it, dickface.
Can, alright, some, some.
The statements are modified in some way.
He can do those things, but he doesn't because he lacks intensity and focus.

Ernie, mental errors typically don't last several minutes.
But I didn't feel like coming up with another word so I just modified it to describe the retard funks that Costner slips into during the games.
I should have just said "retard funks" from the start, but that word didn't come to me until now.
Is this going to be a problem for you?

Yeah, Javi and Ben both were hinting towards certain ones on the team. I couldn't stop laughing at Javi's comment about "Wahhhsquez". Ben seemed like he was referring to Costner and Horner specifically when he said bad passes and being lazy, not getting back on D.
And yeah, I'm still really curious why Mays isn't playing. It's beyond me. And Ferg isn't that good really, but I still would like to see him get some PT every NOW and then. But I do like how Syd is starting the BIG line-up for the past 8 games. Seems to be working especially with Tracy and Ben on the blocks for us. THE ONLY THING I DON'T GET is why Syd is putting in Horner when he seems to make routine errors (and he's NOT THE ONLY ONE). I did NOT say he isn't playin with intensity; b/c he has been playing with more passion lately. He hustles and plays hard, but makes dumb passes and decisions on defense quite a bit. I wouldn't say he's our worst player at all. I understand Ben has to get some rest or whatever, but Horner couldn't make a pass tonight to save his life, then does bounce passes to Javi that almost got turned over. I'll give him credit...he did make a few baskets tonight (one of which was 2nd chance points that surprised me since our offensive boards aren't that high).

Vasquez dropped like 24 on us until Javi started guarding him with 5 minutes left. Then only a handful after Javi started guarding him (and three of them were when that sonofabitch shot it with noone on him at the end). I usually defend Fells' defensive prowess, but he got roasted last night.3/2/2009 2:19:52 PM |

They were running a lot more screens for Vasquez when Fells was on him
I know two or three times I saw Fells get caught by the second screen 3/2/2009 2:21:50 PM |
jocristian All American 7527 Posts user info edit post |
That may be true, but I think Javi was doing a better job wiggling through screens than Fells was when they came too.
To be fair, its not like Vasquez was wide open all night or anything. He had a few open looks, but he was also banging down threes with a hand in his face against Fells. Not much you can do about that. 3/2/2009 2:34:05 PM |
