Does anybody want to pick up the Chargers selections from here on?

With the 28th pick in the 2nd round of the 2009 TWW NFL Mock Draft, the New York Giants select Darius Butler, DB - Connecticut. The G-Men already have talent at DB with Ross, Webster and Dockery, but there's not much beyond that and many consider Butler the 2nd best DB in the draft and a first round pick. There are concerns about his size and speed, but his 43" vert. and 4.38 (4.46 at the combine) 40 have laid those issues to rest. Butler has a ton of college experience and selecting him adds depth to a thin area of the defense and introduces another good character guy to the locker room.

That being said, if I were the Giants GM I would trade the rest of my picks for 2 of the next few picks to select Ramses Barden, WR Cal-Poly and Shonn Greene, RB Iowa (we also need a Safety). Barden will be a project but clearly has the size to be a dominant force in the NFL one day, and Greene would add another horse to the stable of Jacobs, Bradshaw and Ware. There's no room on the team for ten rookies, and there's no sense in wasting draft picks just to stack up the practice squad.

With the 30th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select Evander Hood, DT Missouri. After losing Haynesworth they look to bolster their DT with one of top 3 rated DT's in the draft. Considered by many a high 2nd-round pick, the Titans believe they are getting a steal this late in the 2nd round.

With the 63rd pick, the Cardinals select Marcus Freeman (LB), Ohio State. Even though there are few quality linebackers left, the cardinals are desperate at this position. Freeman is strong and if anything he has been overshadowed by two beasts at OSU.

The Steelers still desperate for more offensive line help take William Beatty Offensive Tackle from UConn. He is the best offensive linemen left and was considered to be a late first round pick. He has NFL size and strength at 6'6" 310. Now the Steelers have Max Unger who can play guard or center and Beatty to play either tackle.

Mohamed Massaquoi, WR - Georgia was taken only one pick earlier than my prediction by the Browns

as far as accuracy, it is the lowest pick in round 2 (harder to forecast) that is so close to true value

I made up the term "True Value" as a way of saying that one way to look at things is to say what actually happened is the real value of the player as opposed to the projected value we as mock drafters assigned. The term was only meant to say who was closest to reality - not who made the "Best Pick" or "Won the Draft"

I will give 9one9 a lot of credit for his Sintim pick in the second round. Picking correctly that low is more impressive than picking Stafford #1 correctly.

In that line of thinking, the best picks, IMO, are those that are exactly right in the second round (lower the better) followed picks that were off by one pick either way in the low second round.
