^Don't know yet but remember in Season 5 in the episode when Jacob was going around talking to all the survivors when they were kids/before they were on the plane. One of the people he went to see was Iliana when she was in a hospital, so through some kind of hierarchy I'd say they are working for Jacob.

No, it was Jacob. He went to see Kate when she was a kid and was about to steal the lunchbox. Sawyer at his parent's funeral when he was writing the letter. Jack when he was at the vending machine after botching the operation. Hurley after he got out of jail and he gave him Charlie's guitar. Locke, right when he landed after his dad pushed him out the window.

ya so who do you guys think they are? pretty sure hes part of the people from the hotel and people that were after hurley and sayid all along. The scary guy being hit and killed makes me believe its not whidmore but everything else points to whidmore. what is whidmore even doing these days? he seemed to be on elouises side last time we saw him "he was my son too" but this 3rd party is just confusing me.

so i just got done re-watching last seasons finale as a warm up. below are the things that really intrigue me.

1. it's just really awesome that what has to be the black rock is coming to the island when Jacob fillets his fish.

2. In the same scene, a man walks up and sits down with jacob. he then asks jacob if he knows how much he wants to kill him. a few seconds later he tells jacob that one day he will find a loophole and it will happen.

3. At the end of the episode locke and ben meet jacob. at this point jacob looks at locke and tells him that it seems locke had found his loophole.

so this random guy and locke have to be the same person/thing. everyone says that jacob is the only one who talks to the island. maybe this guy is the physical incarnation of the island or w/e...

also i'm sure all of this has been stated before but i don't want to go back and read through 8 pages of finale talk from last season's thread.

true. ben always went to be judged alone though, so i don't know if locke saying brb would necessarily mean he's the monster too. then again, maybe the man in black is the smoke monster, and he picked locke all the way back in season 1 when locke encountered the monster in the jungle.

^ he said that before spending 3 years studying it in ann arbor. he returned to the island and asked jack if eloise said anything about destiny to him. jack says yes, and faraday says his mother is wrong. he also said people are variables and may have the ability to change things because of free will. he could be wrong about all that i guess, but i think the nuke is going to create an alternate reality.
