ive been to the 14+ pick up at rec zone and I STRONGLY advise against it, the little shitheads dont pass or shift so... you basically will get about 15 minutes of ice time and during that time you will not get the puck... just trying to help...

I'm going to RecZone tonight because my dad is heading there (he's coming in from Garner so Factory is out for him). This isn't a normal time slot for RecZone so not sure what to expect (though all leagues are out so I'm sure many are looking to skate).

However, Factory was great last week: people did shift reasonably and passing was more frequent than most pickups, so you cant go wrong there.

I need to just skate for awhile to get my endurance back more than anything else but it is hard to do out here since there is hardly any ice time, unlike Raleigh...

i'm just playing pickup, but i am certainly interested in getting a team together if there's enough people interested.

i'm not sure how the adult leagues work, could we join as a group of, say, five and get placed together or do you have to join all as one team? i say this b/c i certainly haven't seen enough people out to make me think a team is in the works, but it seems like there's a few that might be willing.

The only way you get everyone on a single team is to find a team that is basically breaking up. You just have to talk to the respective leagues' organizers. I know my team at RecZone is losing like2-3 but those will be filled with former players and guys from our Factory team. I'm all for playing for a second team if it is not on Sunday nights.

Oh, and Sunday night was a great pickup... except that damn tinted-visor kid. My dad actually got to the RecZone, as was planned, but not a single person was there yet so we headed to Factory.

Generally speaking I'm not, but it's all situational. If I get slashed on the glove, you better believe someone's getting a slash in the back of the knee. Same thing with anyone who tries to establish a screen early in the game. I've gone after guys plenty of times, but I don't really do the Hextall-style preemptive stuff.

that sucks, the first thursday I've had available in weeks and they dont have pickup. Oh well, Ill just have to wait til next thursday. Do you generally have to call ahead to reserve a spot or can you just show up and play, the website makes it sound like you should call ahead.
