^^ Is Paramore supposed to be a Christian band? I thought only Flyleaf was.

I've been talking about 4E in this thread, and in 4E, prestidigitation is a power available to the wizard class. You can't train in it as a skill. You can buy hedge wizard's gloves to gain the power, though. That's what I did for my level 5 swordmage in the interlude we'd been playing while one of our regular players was on vacation.

We returned to our regular characters today. We hit level 13, and a new player joined us. He's playing a revenant assassin! Neat!

I haven't posted about D&D in a little while, but here's an update.

A few weeks ago, we played the last session of the current leg of our main campaign (the one where I play the awesome human fighter, Brynn Lionheart). I won't bore you with details. We killed the dragon. It was wild, sweet, and cool.

Yesterday, we played the first session of our Eberron game. I am playing a human argent! She is wild, sweet, and cool.

Update: We're two sessions into the Eberron game, basically playing every other week with some hiccups due to summer/cancer. My ardent is unstoppable! But she can't hit to save her life. Good thing her life never needs saving.

Haven't posted about our games in a while.

My ardent in the Eberron game got killed, so I replaced her with a wizard from the Mournland. He is very cool! He casts fiery spells and spits a lot of gallows humor. Lots of fun with this guy! Auto-hit magic missile is basically the bomb dot com. We're 4th level now!

One of my friends punked out of the game like he always does with D&D. He was playing a warforged battlerager fighter, and I guess he just got tired of missing all the time and falling in every encounter. I took the character up to 4th level and played it two weeks ago. I swapped out tide of iron for knockdown assault. I used that to knock this big troll prone in the first encounter, and we dogpiled that motherfucker and slew him in two rounds. Awesome! Between that and Warforged Superiority (knock enemies prone when you hit with an OA), he is just straight clobbering dudes. Took Headsman's Chop along with the other fighter in the group for sweet bonus damage against all those prone enemies. Delicious.

Dark Sun became a regular thing. I'm now playing a thri-kreen monk. That can be frustrating. His build is suited to fighting multiple enemies, so I'm pretty worthless in solo encounters. We just hit 4th level yesterday. I decided to take Deadly Draw, a feat that grants me combat advantage against any enemy I pull or slid adjacent to me. Should really help out with my relatively low attack bonuses.

Stoked about the Essentials assassin! Have you seen this thing?

Looking forward to getting back to my 14th-level human fighter soonish, too. Been missing that higher-level play.

So I ain't posted about our campaigns in years.

Eberron crashed and burned. Dark Sun was a short-term thing. The other home game, where I mentioned my 14th-level fighter, has continued off and on. My fighter's up to level 23 now, I think, but play has just gotten weird. We don't often have map-and-miniatures combat, and shit is more cosmic.

Anyone else got a good D&D game going?

Our D&D game resumes tonight after a long break for the holidays. We actually hit 25th level, so that's cool. I replaced victorious surge with goad of blood, a stance that lets me use any melee attack at-will or encounter power in place of a melee basic attack. Very choice!
