fuck the redsksins! san diego county and the dc metro area are the only places in the country stuck with a totally meaningless game instead of eagles/cowboys or packers/cardinals this afternoon.

Shanahan. And then he will let Campbell go and draft Bradford with our #1 pick. We will continue to suck.

until there's an OL, we'll continue to suck no matter who the QB is

they need to trade away the 1st rounder for a bunch of low rounders, draft a bunch of big guys, and shuttle them back and forth between redskins park and a buffet for the next 8 months

Shanahan it is!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4799532

Quote :
"Under the terms of the new deal, Shanahan will team with Redskins executive vice president and general manager Bruce Allen, but Shanahan will have the ultimate authority on football decisions. Shanahan will be introduced as the Redskins head coach at a 2 p.m. ET news conference Wednesday."

Though I'm not too happy with giving him total control.

It's better than giving any control over football decisions to Snyder.... because it's worked out sooooooo well in the past

Redskins.... Champions of the off season.

Well no, I didn't mean Snyder. I would rather see BRUCE Allen have control over player personnel instead of giving Shanahan full control, which got him into some trouble in Denver, and since, ya know, that was BRUCE Allen's job in Tampa and Oakland.

Anyhow, I think it's as good of a hire as the Redskins could make.

My thoughts on shanahan hire: Anything is better than Zorn. It started becoming increasingly apparent that Zorn was WELL in over his head.

so im curious....do we really need sam bradford?

cant we trade our pick for two picks or whatever and get a qb later and some oline help???

this isnt exactly a big qb draft....though everyone is bobbing tebow's, mccoys and bradfords knob

i thought possibly signing a free agent QB, but the best available is Jason Campbell

No way in hell should we draft a qb in the first round. We can't even protect an athletic qb. How long till bradfords shoulder is buried in the turf again and he's done for the year(career)?

I don't think Campbell is our answer at QB...

BUT...

we won't have an answer at QB UNTIL we shore up our offensive line. Tom Brady would have a tough time putting up good numbers behind our line. So, i think we need to go after some linemen heavily in this draft.

And that was probably the exception right? I don't think Campbell is any kind of Drew Brees in waiting but he was a helluva leader in Auburn...I think he could be a solid NFL QB if he actually had a few years of consistency as far as head coaches, offensive coordinators, QB coaches, etc...but turnover is part of the league too, so who knows.

I agree. I think JC could be a solid qb in the NFL and I'm willing to give him a chance with a healthy Oline, a stud RB(someone not named Portis) and a possession WR. Not to mention a Ocord that knows how to use him and make decent play calls.

Fix the oline in the off season. Hope Malcom Kelly and Devin Thomas develop, take some heat off Moss. Fred Davis looks like he's ready to play. Keep Cooley, run 2 TE set. Clean house at CB. Keep Landry, but teach him how to TACKLE! Not every play is a sportscenter knockout.

you think they are better off with Campbell at the helm? or possibly sticking a rookie qb in there? this trade is awesome...we got a 6x pro bowler....who has atleast 4-5 more years in him left...

Remember Sonny Jurgeson?

^i think campbell was coming along very well

skins have MUCH bigger need at rb, especially if portis cant get/stay healthy.

mcnabb is an upgrade from campbell, but not nearly enough of one to solve other offensive issues.

i assume campbell is now being shopped?

^bigger need at RB? we have willie parker, portis and larry johnson now.

and campbell was not coming along fine. He was downright terrible......slow in his decision making, accuracy not always there, didn't really have a feel for the game.

He's streaky, but when McNabb is hot, he's one of the best in the league.

^^He's a HUGE upgrade over Campbell.

i think campbell was mainly drafted because he is very religious, and that's important to joe gibbs. campbell just seems a bit too slow to play QB, and doesn't show emotion. he seems like a nice guy which is why no skins fans hate him, but he's just not good at playing QB in the NFL.

if we can get a couple seasons out of mcnabb i'll be happy. and if not, who cares? we haven't had a good QB for 20 years, so what else is new.

hmm i see that the skins only traded at most a 2nd (2010) and 3rd (2011) pick for mcnabb. this is less a bad deal than i initially assumed.

still, putting in oldy o'knees at qb seems like a recipe for a brunnell-scale failure

i just hope they can trade that #4 overall down for a couple picks to spend on o linemen

i had actually missed the willie parker news, but still

now we have 3 rb's instead of only 2 who could either be excellent or all miss half the season
