I think Kim earned the win just for beating both of the Williams sisters.

yeah, that's a damn good shot if you get it over the net and in play

it's an amazing shot if you turn it into a winner

and a winner to get to match point...forget it

i can't stand the guy, but there's no denying he's a stone cold tennis genius

If I may ask, why can't you stand Feds? He's like the nicest professional athlete you'll find.

I don't know about that; he was a complete dick to Roddick after the Wimbledon final.

I don't hate the guy, I just find him completely without character and therefore a total bore.

^how was he a dick to roddick? i watched the end and didn't remember anything dickish...but i certainly could have forgotten something

the only reason i can see someone not liking fed is because they are annoyed with how successful he has been...which is an understandable reason.

i thought he acted like a dick too

something to do with the fact that he said he knew how it felt to lose in the final(nadal the year before) but he has 5 wimbledons or some shit. I dont think he was trying to sound like a dick but he definately came off as one after that comment.

The whole jacket with the "15" on it already made was a pretty dick thing to do. Just didn't sound like something you would get from Federer.

Then he pretty much said next to nothing about Roddick during the whole hoopla afterwards. Seeing that the guy just was the other half in one of the greatest tennis matches of all-time, and all you can do is talk about yourself...something I would expect from someone like Serena Williams...not Roger Federer.

I've always been apathetic towards Roger. I've respected the shit out of him because he's probably one of the best to play the game (you can argue that he's the best, but I would never say he's clearly better than Sampras, Borg, etc.), but he definitely doesn't have that charismatic personality that I like in my top athletes. But the way he acted at the Wimbledon dropped him down a small notch in my book.

I'm pretty sure that jacket with the 15 was made by Nike, so he was contractually obligated to wear it. I do agree he came off as a bit of a dick with what he said, but it wasn't intentional. He's usually extremely gracious in victory, always complementing his opponents. The problem is, when you win as much as he does, it's almost impossible to compliment your opponent without sounding condescending. I mean, I'm sure he's going to talk up Del Potro before the final, but he's 6-0 against him and hadn't even dropped a set until their match at the French. What can he say?

\/yeah, i'll agree with that

I don't think he was being a dick on purpose, either, but it was one of those things that demonstrates a lack of empathy in a person.

^^ I'm glad more people are finally seeing it this way.

He's been this way ever since he upset Pete Sampras at wimbledon the year he first won a major.

Plus he cries like a baby when he loses.

I think Del Potro has a chance if he plays like he did

but it'll obviously be a lot closer than the Nadal match, and I'm hoping it'll be at least 4 sets

It'll go like the last few matches Federer has had with Soderling. Dude will knock the shit out of the ball, but Federer will cleanly and calmly win in straight sets.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. I seriously doubt he was "contractually obligated" to wear that. He just can't wear Reebok and Adidas shit. And I think a gracious winner would have just worn a regular jacket...save that "15" shit for a commercial or your next event.

I call bullshit. It's not like he pasted Roddick in straight sets. You could almost say he got outplayed for the match. Either way, even if he just made a mistake and got caught up in the moment, he came off as kind of being a douche post-match...and a lot of experts mentioned that afterwards.

^^soderling was a point away from taking fed to a 5th...

i like fed in 4...but wouldn't be surprised if he won in straights. i think fed will dictate play, where nadal let dp dictate and take it to him.

He beat sampras in 2001 and then lost in the quarters (henman i think?), won his first major in 03.

But I agree with him being kind of a dick after the wimbledon final, although not on purpose

i still remember the shot that this goes back to... federer could have blown a forehand by del potro but hit a drop shot instead, potro wins that point and ends up breaking

haha, Federer was like "do you know who the fuck I am? don't tell me to shut up."

he should have threatened to shove a ball down the chair umpire's throat.

Are you SERIOUS? I didn't threaten to KILL YOU... Are you SERIOUS?
