Dang this sucks. Heroes was the only television series I looked forward to and followed religiously. Hopefully they find someway to bring a conclusion to all the storylines.

^^They might do a miniseries to conclude it, or just might do everything via web content

Don't know how I feel about this. The last season was just so awful I was fine with it ending.

New characters and new story line with the original creator back? I'll give it a shot.

How is the original showrunner coming back a good thing? He was the one who ran the show into the ground in the first place.

I guess I'm hoping that time off will help him realize what made the show so great the first season and do more of the same. If someone else were bringing it back it likely wouldn't feel like the same show. But you're right, it could end up being more of the same crap that doomed the original series.

^I'm hoping that by making it a limited series of only 12 episodes, they can better flesh out the story arc in advance instead of writing for both the eventuality of the show being cancelled or renewed. Knowing in advance what the scope of the story will run, maybe it will have a full 12 episodes and not worry about leaving it on a cliff hanger or something.

Fugitives and Redemption were both just so awful. I loved the first three volumes but I hated the last 2 so so much.

I'd be interest in all new characters. As long as we never have to see Ali Larter ever again.

As per the original writers, everything went to hell about mid-way through the second season when the writers strike happened. A lot of garbage got put in that they had to make canon, and the season ended as the complete opposite of what was planned (the virus was supposed to get out). So whatever general plan they had for the upcoming seasons had to be completely scrapped. I'm sure the destructive hand of NBC also had a huge part to do with the plot going to complete hell.

If the original writers can keep the focus on what they did well in the first season, this has a good chance to do well. Well, as long as they fix their other main issue that made Season 2 awkward: too many characters and plot-lines. The first season managed that well, especially when it all came together, but Season 2 ran into major issues. It wasn't as bad for binge-watchers like myself, but I couldn't imagine dealing with that week-to-week for those watching it live.

What's the chance that they ret-con a bunch of the stuff from the previous seasons?

Also, one thing I really enjoyed about Heroes was the expanded universe. They did a few really neat multimedia things including web-shorts and a serialized comic that handled a lot of one-off stories and expanded/explained the show's canon.
