^^^I'm worried about Owen being a bit hesitant when it comes to crossing routes or anything over the middle. Well know about his issues with butterfingers in the past, but couple that with hearing footsteps and he could have some serious issues. I do hope he comes back strong though, he's a good kid with good talent to work with. 10/2/2009 3:05:36 PM |

I havent seen anything to say that we are looking for another kicker.
someone close to the team did state that we are looking into a different route(but that was referring to a new special teams coach)10/2/2009 3:15:02 PM |

Pack vs. Wake: In their own words Tom O'Brien explains the direction of N.C. State's offense and Leroy Burgess talks about facing Wake Forest's defense in some of the best quotes from this week.
N.C. State visits Wake Forest at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and these quotes were worth sharing before deleting the files to clear memory space on the digital recorder:
"I just put the ball where I think guys can go get it. And I just hope they get it, pretty much." - Quarterback Russell Wilson on the catch Jamelle Eugene made to steal an interception away from a Pittsburgh defender last week.
"I think I got two (blindside hits) before it woke me up a little bit. . . .It was my first year coming in playing, and I was a little antsy, I guess you could say a little juiced up, not reading my keys and wanting to make a play." - Defensive tackle Leroy Burgess, on facing Wake Forest's complicated misdirection plays last year.
"I would consider it an advantage (having played the first four games at home). We know how we’re going to play at home. We’re 3-1 now. The crowd’s backing us up good. There’s a buzz about us. Us playing at home gave us, we kind of came together and there wasn’t as much pressure playing at home as playing on the road." - Tight end George Bryan
"We have to play the way we play. Right now we're a little more of a throwing football team than we've been in the past. We're more of a spread the field to get guys on the field. . . .One of the strengths of our offense is the quarterback and the wide receivers, so we have to keep them involved in the game. You look at coming in we weren't sure what we had in Toney Baker and (Jamelle) Eugene's missed a couple games cause of injury so we've been a little banged up there. The more the backs get healthy and the more we get a little better up front, we are improving a little bit on the offensive line, we finally got it back intact this game, maybe we'll be able to start running the ball a little more." - Coach Tom O'Brien on N.C. State's offense
"He’s a good guy first and foremost. But he’s a tough, hard-nosed football coach. He’s a guy that gets his kids to play every Saturday. It’s a no non-sense approach. They block and tackle. There’s not a lot of frills involved. He’s just a good fundamental football coach. His record proves he’s an awful good football coach. - Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe on Tom O'Brien

two questions
1. was that the wolfpack vs tarheels curly head kid towards the end? 2. does anyone have a non-espnu highlight from the pitt game? the espnu one only used field level cameras so it was hard to see the plays 10/2/2009 5:32:44 PM |

I am saying I dont think we've faced a QB of skinners level yet.
The list of QBs farther up was given as evidence that Stull and Skinner were roughly equivalent.
I pointed out that the Hawaii QB was higher on that list than both our QB and tim tebow.
Where the fuck did you get gimmick offense out of any of my posts?" |
well the only reason the hawaii qb is ahead is because of hawaii's system. Though I guess you could also say that RW and Tebow both run spreads as well
Skinner benefits from the Wake offense a lot, imo. And while I dont think the Pitt QB was great shakes (lol @ throwing the ball out of bounds on 4th down) he certainly wasnt useless, either10/2/2009 5:50:37 PM |

October 1, 2009 9:02 AM
Posted by ESPN.com’s Heather Dinich
I took a hit last week, guys. A big hit. I only got 50 percent of my picks right, with Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, South Florida and Boston College all proving me wrong. My season total dropped to 71.7 percent (28 of 39 games). I’m trying to redeem myself this week, and it’s just getting tougher. This week, though, I’m counting on the Seminoles to show up, and I’ve got an upset brewing in Chapel Hill:
Florida State 24, Boston College 21 -- Those within the program seem convinced they’re better than they have played this season, and it’s not a question of talent or speed. It’s a matter of immaturity and costly mistakes. If the Noles have any pride, Bobby Bowden said this week, they’ll be ready for this one.
Clemson 31, Maryland 14 -- Until the Terps stop giving away points and moving backward with penalties, they don’t even give themselves a chance. There’s no question Clemson has more experience and talent on its roster, and these days, even home-field advantage isn’t so great for Maryland.
NC State 28, Wake Forest 24 -- Russell Wilson won’t be the difference in this game. The Pack’s defense will. Both Wilson and Riley Skinner will have their moments and put their team in position to win, but NC State’s defense is the best in the nation right now and it's ready to prove it against a conference opponent. ^so you didnt watch our first half against Pitt??
b/c if you did, there is no way you would think that we are one of the top 25 d's, much less the best. in the 4th quarter againt Pitt, we were prob a top 25 D, in the 3rd quarter, top 50, in the first half we were barely top 75
i mean, they put up 31 on us. they put up 35 on louisville, so i guess louisville has a top 10 D?
