What team are you watching? Because I keep seeing one that starts and plays a TON of freshmen and sophomores. Maddox, Manning, Lucas, Wolff, Bishop, Smith, Byrd, Byers, Wilson, etc. Chuck's great (wherever you get this idea) defensive recruits are the reason we start all young guys.

Do not forget the RIDICULOUS amount of injuries we've had. That shit just isn't normal.

However, the coaches need to change our defensive game plan, or try to make some kind of adjustment during the game. The schemes we are playing clearly aren't working. I can't understand why this hasn't been addressed.

ncstate is the worst school in the acc and has been worse than any other school in it at basketball and football combined for the past 25 years.

Mike Archer bets on the games against us. Why is he still employed?

regardless of injuries, we had a 3rd and 11 yesterday and we rushed 3

Now, I'm not saying that isn't a good strategy...sometimes....but we've proven over the last 10 games that we're incapable of putting pressure on a qb with 4 linemen, let alone 3, yet we still decide its better to put the play in the hands of our shit secondary. What do they do? Let a receiver get behind them and give up a play of 40 yards.

Ironically, we rushed 5 and 6 on the first clemson drive of the game and forced a quick throw and punt.

but what the fuck do I know

If Archer isn't fired this offseason, and we have another season next year as abysmal as this on defense, (regardless of injuries....our scheme/play calling sucks), both he and O'Brien should be fired and forced to return 4 seasons worth of salary.

tob won't get rid of archer this offseason. next year will be nearly as bad as this year (only slightly better because irving will be back and our secondary will be slightly less crappy). we'll get into some crappy meaningless bowl game, saving tob's and archer's job.

we'll continue to suck until people realize that tob's coordinators at bc were the reasons for his success. spaz seems to be doing just fine without tob. meanwhile cheddar tooth has brought the most disappointing season ever to nc state (considering the expectations, this is unarguable.)

today georgia fired its defensive coordinator and two defensive assistants. mark richt cited among other things that the bulldogs gave up 30 points or more in five games this season.

if that's grounds for termination, archer would've been gone by the end of october.

for those tryna do the math in their head, we gave up 30 or more eight times, forty or more three times.

richt might point to the points, but the fact is martinez and his staff were unable to make any in-game adjustments and flat out fail against spread offenses. it's not like he would have been fired if uga gave up 30 in 5 games but went 12-0

we have a good offense. the fact that we've been able to score the way we have all season when we're facing a well-rested d practically every time we take the field is a testament to how good it is.

when your QB is third in the nation in passing touchdowns, you don't really need to worry about your offense.

when your QB throws 31 touchdown passes in a season and you still have a losing record, you need to fire your defensive coordinator.

Man I saw that this thread had been bumped and I was looking for the announcement.

Seems like if there was to be an announcement that it would come sometime soon. If we don't hear something by the time all the bowl games are played out I guess I'll have to assume that Archer will be the DC for next season as well.

I hope that win against Carolina didn't make people forget just how bad our defense has been these last 3 years.

How could any sound, intelligent Division 1 football coach, NOT get rid of a defensive coordinator like Archer after our past 8 game debacle which has gotten worse and not better??

Archer, would be out the door if he were the Def. Coor. at Notre Dame and FSU, so why in the hell is O'brien taking so long???

i think obrien won't get rid of him. (not that i agree at the moment)

but obrien knows as well as archer that he was dealing with a terrible defense to begin with. and 1/2 through the season to the end it was terrible AND injured.

he'll give him another year.

i don't agree with that decision though. i just think it's realistically what will happen. prove me wrong TOB

obrien will bring this POS coach back, blame injuries and inexperience again, and we'll be right back here next year

reportedly a torn ACL, which makes sense with the way he went down without any contact to leg itself

The only way obrien fires him is if he gets pressure from the AD. reportedly, taht's the only reason obrien fired an assistant at BC

we know lee fowler is a lazy shyster who is just raping NCSU athletics for all it's worth, so archer will not get fired until he does some shit like sexually harass a coed. he will never be fired based on his performance as a football coach.

Speaking of which, any chicks in sports talk want to volunteer to take one for the team? Perhaps kimslackey

I will pay 100 dollars to have a female student of NC State get sexually assaulted or harrased by Lee Fowler and it results in his termination.

I am dead serious

Keep Lowe....but fire Archer. That makes sense.

Why don't we wait till he gets in his recruits. He has a great defensive recruiting class coming in next year. The cupboard was bare when he got here. The players he inherited don't fit his system. Who would want to be DC here if we fire him anyway. AMC was banging Willie Young's baby's momma and it killed the team chemistry.

Did I miss any excuses?

I will match that $100.

I have easily spent more than that on tickets to losing NCSU games. Getting rid of Fowler for that is a good value.
