Bennett inherited what Sidney has never had: A 1st team all acc guard. I don't care how you split it. You cannot win consistently w/o great guard play. See UNC this year. By the way, I think Lowe is doing a terrible job so far. I'm glad I coach basketball so I don't have time to watch this shit team take the floor.

^Landesberg didn't do shit in this game; our horrendous offensive performance was why we lost, not him. (i kinda take that back b/c he had 9 assists to our 3 guards' 0, but not really cause he was 2/10 shooting)

Possibly the worst I've seen us play in the second half this year, and it's been pretty bad before... well maybe wake forest at home was worse. Also what the fuck is going on with our free throws and why do our losses always play out the same way? We are always winning or close at halftime and then starting at about the 16 minute mark don't score for 10 minutes. Find a new way to lose this one's getting boring motherfuckers.

Nevertheless, if we can find a way to stop playing like shit in the second half we still half a good chance to finish the second half of ACC play strong. Our schedule is not that difficult with the only ranked team being Georgia Tech, and I could see us at 7-9 or 8-8 in conference if we play to our potential.

Lastly, why the fuck is Mays starting over Javi and getting so much goddamn playing time?

even i thought 7-9 was a crapshot a few games ago, and i was one of the optimistic ones. at this point, nit is our all our "hope for a strong finish" could realisticly boil down to. I mean, we can only lose 2 or 3 more games to get what you're saying and have a shot at bubble. Do you really think that can happen with this team?

I couldn't take anymore at around the 4 minute mark. I have never seen a team as a whole shoot that bad. It was almost like watching a U10 Park and Rec basketball team. 19 points in the second half! 19 points! The only time I've seen it worse than that was when we put up, 16 points (could be wrong) against UNC in the first half a year or two ago. So I said screw it and turned it over to the Canes game, it didn't get much better.

My favorite two plays were the Julius layup over the backboard... and then a few minutes later when Javi shot a three and it hit the backboard support (not even the side of the backboard but the support).

^Based on what I saw last night, I'm not so sure he didn't.

Did you see the offensive sets in the 2nd half? There was nothing happening. Either Sid can't get players to run his offensive or he tells the players to drive into the lane and throw shots over the backboard. Not sure which is true but either way, it doesn't say much for his coaching ability.

It's one thing to scapegoat Fells, Costner and McCauley since they weren't Sid's recruits and didn't fit into the system, but when Lowe's own recruits don't show up on a consistent basis and quit on him, there's something not right.

If there is anytime during a game where you would expect an offensive set to result in an open shot it would be after a time out. Sid may not have told him to throw it over the backboard (I'm not 100% convinced he didn't) but obviously what he said during the timeout didn't have any affect on the team.

I think a common theme over the last 3 games has been the other team adjusts at half time and we don't.

Why can't we find a gem like Bennett?? Fuck. We might get little breaks during games and seasons...but we never get the big breaks like finding the perfect coach (still some time with TOB) or the one or two players that can deliver us a championship.

Don't forget when we called a TO to set up a play for our last shot of the first half. It looked like it was designed to be a 3 for Wood or Horner (forget which) but they had him doubled so we panicked because there was of course no 2nd option. Mays ended up jacking a 28 footer with 2 seconds left on the shot clock

It took Lowe 4 years to get two quality guards because he had no ties in the college recruiting world. He had been in the NBA the whole time. You have to get in early nowadays to get really good players, e.g., Ryan Harrow and maybe CJ Leslie (Don't think he's coming, but we got on him early). He's done a pretty good job RECRUITING in the years he has been here, just lacking quality guards. The only big mistake he made was taking Javi over Chris Warren, which would've totally given our program a different look.

If you want to blame somebody, blame Lee Fowler for hiring a guy that had no knowledge, experience, or ties in the college game. Everyone wants to win early, but since Fowler hired someone from the NBA, we were behind on the recruiting scene since Lowe stepped foot on campus.

I think Lowe is doing shitty, but I'm willing to give him 1 more year just to see what it might be like with quality guards. I'll be playing Just the Tip in regards to supporting Lowe. Hell, O'Brien hasn't had a winning season yet and he gets slurped off nonstop.

He's a proven winner at a school with less resources and support. Also he took over a program that finished 3-9 and the coach got FIRED not RESIGNED. Don't wanna screw that up and TT10 comes in trolling telling me I don't know anything.
