I'm really liking recruiting this year. It was always so easy before -- on the PS2 games I always had the #1 class in the nation, like 10 5 stars from all over the country. This year with State I've got mostly 3s, two or three 4s, almost exclusively from pipeline states.

I've read that recruits come in rated much lower, too. And apparently after a few recruiting cycles there are very few 99 rated players. Nice to see a little more realism.

i'm all for more realistic recruiting (in '10 i think every one of my classes had at least 15 5 stars, and the only 4 stars i would ever get were the occasional K/P or scrambling QB with ridiculous speed. what isn't realistic at all is not being able to choose what i want to talk to a recruit about. i'm not going to push television exposure and conference prestige when i'm coaching in the sun belt, but those 2 pop up way more than anything else.

Bama's QB just did the handoff glitch...basically he dropped back to hand it off, but just kept going back...after about a 30 yard drop back, while still holding the ball out as if to hand it off, he finally 'got out' of the glitch, and threw an incomplete pass right before i could sack him

The handoff glitch was in last year's game too. I think it happens when you push a button in the middle of a play fake (at least on offense). I always try to mash buttons until the QB quits running backwards and can throw it away.

^Yeah and when recruiting against Duke, their facilities are rated like a B or B+...I'd compare their stadium to a high school field.

Little over halfway through my first season, landed 2 4-star recruits(MLB, OLB) but that's it. I like some of the new aspects of recruiting, but really not liking the random topic portion of it.

to be fair, facilities scores have more to do with weight rooms, study halls, dining halls, etc, and Duke's are as good as anyone's.

All I can say is if this game is remotely accurate it's going to be a LONG season. Playing Cincy-GT-VT back to back to back is ridiculous. They were all ranked in the high teens and I lost to all of them on All-American. Lost to Cincy at the buzzer on a FG, the other two were blowouts.

I'm seeing lots of pick 6's on jumped routes and lots of fumbles returned for touchdowns, usually as the QB is getting hit. The defenses are scoring almost as much as the offenses in my games for both me and the CPU.

You guys keep talking about setting ball carrying to "conservative". Is that only online games? I play offline only and don't see an option like that. How do I get to that screen on 360?

^on the play calling screen after you've picked a formation and you're looking at the list of 20 plays you should see an option for "go to gameplan"; on PS3 its square, i dont know what corresponds on 360.

Finally played UNC last night. Their run D is probably a bit overrated. But their offense is grossly overrated. Seemed like Greg Little was a machine the first half, but partially due to their players shaking too many tackles to count. But I manage to pull out the victory in OT after a missed FG by them.

What difficulty and game speed is everyone playing on?

I'm playing on AA and Slow, but even with adjusted sliders it seems too easy. Started out 4-0 in my dynasty...

I'm thinking it's the slow speed that is helping me so much, but I like being able to see holes open and make plays either random mashing.....
