That shot above does worry me a bit. I love Nolan, but I really didn't think the villains in Batman Begins were anything special.

This happens all the time. For example, with Game of Thrones, I followed that from the day it was first announced as a possible project through when it aired. People following it complained about EVERYTHING. Oh this outfit looks terrible, the legs on that chair don't look right, that sword's proportions are wrong, it was summer and not snowing at all for the location shoot of the prologue in the snowy woods, and on and on. And the final product was amazing.

Sure the costume doesn't look great in those pictures but I've stopped placing much importance on low resolution stills related to films and TV shows.

Also, a lot of outfits and details on outfits are changed in post-production these days...

I think thats part of the brillance of the movies, that it seems like everday people...

The scarecrow was plain and it worked.

The Joker wasnt all that ornamental. but it works.
