In them or on them, there's a distinct difference.
I think cottage cheese is disgusting on its own. However, when my fiance makes lasagna and uses half cottage cheese and half ricotta, I can't really tell so I'm like "whatev." 1/6/2011 12:58:16 PM |

i like smoothies with coconut and nuts mixed in
and for increased flavor I use frozen 100% juice concentrates, you dont need to add but a small spoonful for alot of flavor.
helps especially for when youre buying fruit out of season and they arent as good, but youve reallly got a sweet tooth

I really hate starting out exercising. I've figured out that I need to exercise every day in order to keep it up. I know exercising every day is bad, but if I do something low key then I think it will be alright. However, I'm so sore right now I can barely move around without pain. being out of shape sucks ass! 1/6/2011 1:26:26 PM |

For protein
Then again, as a pescetarian who detests beans, I tend to rely on dairy (usually Greek yogurt) for a majority of my protein.
Regardless, it tastes awesome. What's wrong with cottage cheese?

Cottage cheese with fruity salsa is also delicious, because you get both the sweet and the salty. Pineapple salsa is amaaaaaaazing with it (because plain pineapple is my favorite sweet accompaniment) 1/6/2011 1:49:05 PM |

I'm tired of seeing this thread (or the last one) and then feeling like shit. I'm in.
Upcoming workout schedule: Thursday - Hockey Friday - Hockey Saturday - Arms and Back + Abs Sunday - Plyometrics Monday - Shoulders and Arms + Abs Tuesday - Too tired/sore to do anything
I did P90x 2 years ago and it worked well. I think I'm going to try and incorporate it with other physical activities so it doesn't consume my life. The results probably won't be as quick but it will be much more enjoyable. 1/6/2011 4:24:53 PM |

What's TRX? And where do you do it?
Today's Food/Diet Report Workout: 4-mile run, then I taught spin class. Run total for the year is up to 35 miles. Breakfast: Greek yogurt with special k Snack: Almonds Lunch: Tomato soup Snack: String cheese Dinner: Hummus with pita
My trainer keeps pushing protein shakes on me as an optimal post-workout food ... they taste fine but I really hate them. They're all so sweet. Why must all protein shakes be a dessert flavor? Is this the best way to get lots of protein? Or is it okay to eat whole foods that are a bit more savory after a workout?

Today I ran 3 miles and then played Dance Central with friends.
food: Breakfast: blueberry and banana shake with 1/4 cup skim milk, 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, and 1/8 cup granola Mid-morning: 1 egg scramble with sun-dried tomatoes, and a light spread of light Boursin on 1 slice gluten-free bread Lunch: 3 ounces salmon, quinoa and mushrooms Dinner: 3 ounces baked chicken with homemade pesto/basil sauce, brown rice, and green beans Alcohol: 3 (but this is the only time I drank this week) Dessert: 2 small chocolate cupcakes
Normally I don't have alcohol or dessert. We had friends over for dinner tonight so it was a nice treat.

your sedentary job probably makes no difference relative to the metabolism you must have/are developing with your training regimen
im blessed to have a job that i get to rock sweats and sweat it out while i work, but really thats just water i could lose weight without doin that as well as lose weight sitting at my desk
Ive learned that once i reallly get goin with the exercise i can lose 2.5 lbs a day not having done jack shit just metabolic weight loss

According to thedailyplate, workouts are supposed to be considered separate from regular activities. So if you sit at a desk 8 hours a day but go to the gym, you're still considered sedentary. And this wasn't a typical daily meal plan. We had an emergency project at work, so couldn't go out to lunch as planned. Had to work with what was avail at the time.
^ What do you do?

I wear yoga pants to work, but that's just because I'm apathetic and lazy about appearances. It's typically frowned upon. Workout clothing is awesome though.

TRX is suspension training using your body weight. It's Total Body Resistance Exercise. There are ~ 300 exercises you can do on a system. Changing the angles of your body, such as in the pics below, can make the reps more difficult or easier. It builds great strength and balance, and you can incorporate all major muscles for strength training, as well as cardio. I took the class at 6:30 and I'm already feeling it in the muscles. Two days from now will be killer!
when I first saw one of these classes, it looked pretty intimidating. I took this class at the RexHealthcare gym near Wake Forest. They just started offering it on NCSU campus, for those of you who are still students, last semester I believe. It's something new and provides quite a challenge..I think you would like it iheartkisses
