This really raises the bar for the game at boston college. BC is up by 1 hosting Paul Hewitt's fearsome GaTech Jackets late in the 1st half.

wonder if we'll receive any votes in the polls? Wake is bad, but we destroyed them, and we've put up 87+ points in both games this week

Wake had 21 total rebounds

We had 16 offensive rebounds and 40 total

CJ Williams 7-8 from the field

Quote :
"It marked the first time N.C. State had opened ACC play at home under Lowe, with its last league opener here coming in Herb Sendek's final season in 2006. In the past four years, Lowe's teams hadn't shown much offensive punch in those openers, scoring 62 points in both of the first two games followed by 51 and 59 the next two seasons.

This time, however, the Wolfpack had 40 points by halftime, cracked that 62-point barrier with nearly 9 1/2 minutes left and finished with a season-high scoring output."

Wake is a terrible team.

It was at home.

We should have won by 34.

(and RBC should have been filled to capacity)

^^It was up at about 30 when the scrubs went in. Not too hard to assume we would've kept extending the lead had we left them in.

the arena was full enough considering the opponent.

was pretty quiet because there wasnt a whole lot of suspense. Wake is terrible.

My favorite player to watch this year is Williams. I think he is going to show the promise he displayed before he got hurt in high school. All hustle.

T. smith disappointed me with his hustle.

one possesion he didnt even bother going to the offensive end of the court, literally standing there for 6-7 seconds waiting on the play to end. Another when he should have gotten on the floor and instead just stood up reaching for the ball. for once, the refs bailed us out on it.

the refs were terrible in the first half.

Most important thing about this game was Tracy's performance. No signs that his knee is still bothering him and he looks fresh. Howell and Painter are also much better in their diminshed roles now that Tracy is back.

We're going to need a few solid ACC wins before we get into the top 25 after the OOC games we lost.

Wake lost by 12 points to UNCW

Wake lost to Presbyterian

Wake is not any kind of notable win

HOWEVER, the way we looked in this win is what I am taking away from this game.

I was unsure what I was feeling watching that last 10 minutes, my brother guessed it could have been joy. Maybe I'll get to experience it a few more times this season.

It's a conference game we needed to dominate. Granted we looked like shit in the first half once we got rolling we put our foot on their neck and didn't let up.

we shouldve beat Wake just like we shouldve beaten Elon. Its not a notable win in a sense that it should give us any top 25 votes like was stated at the higher up on this page

Wake is awful...may not win an ACC game this year.

But, we played very good. Especially considering we didn't get much production out of the point guard spot today. Minus the 5 minute stretch in the first half when we couldn't score and let WF cut it to 1, we played a very compete ball game.

How is this the first home opener we have had in the ACC since Lowe got here? Wouldn't you logically expect it to alternate yearly? Who controls this bullshit? Swofford?

loved the hustle by williams. he isnt a guy that gets plays designed for him to score, so its good when that type of guy is still showing more hustle than anyone else on the court.

really like leslie's effort in the last month or so too.

"“Our young players need to understand the physicality, the grit and the will involved in defensive rebounding,” Bzdelik said. “And until they learn that, they will struggle to put themselves in position to win games at this level. ... It’d be easy to say we’re not strong enough yet. But you don’t need to be big to rebound the basketball. You need to get down low. You need to drive your forearm into people’s sternum and push them back. Plain and simple.”

Wake’s next game comes Wednesday at home against Maryland, a battle that will prove just as hard or harder than Saturday’s was.

Said Bzdelik: “We can do all the scouting reports and go through everything that we know our opponent is going to do. But when that ball is thrown up on the glass, you have to be a man. This is a big boys’ league.”"

I got a feeling this guy won't be around very long.

Probably already been mentioned but I don't read the whole thread

Javi 15 min +/- -3
Ryan 25min +/- +27

The +/- system maybe an irrelevant stat, but that's a big difference.

4th game in a row we've shot better than 50% (51.5)
90% FT's
50% 3ptrs
2x lead in rebounds

close...Wake is a turrible team, but it looks like we're finally hitting our stride. If they keep playing like they did in the second half, there'll be double digit ACC wins in the future

False. At first glance, this may have looked like what was happening. What actually happened was Tracy's knee brace slid down his leg due to the sweat and he was trying to pull it back up. This happened at least 2 different times, possibly 3. Hopefully we can figure something out for him so that won't happen in future games.

I saw him wincing a little bit during yesterdays game as well. The knee is supposed to be fine structurally but I am sure it still hurts and will slow him down a little bit from time to time.

^^I noticed that as well. The first time it happened I was thinking that his knee was bothering him so I was a little worried. But yes, he was just adjusting his knee pad thing.
