Derek Jeter? really? This is evidence that fans do not deserve the right to vote anymore.

Jeter making it is awful. Really thought Howard would have made it this year, especially over Gaby Sanchez. Looks to be a good game in general though.

Paulie is top-5 in the triple crown categories

.317
21 HR
62 RBI

that would be a shame if he didn't get in

Jeter shouldn't even be an All-Star, Asdrubal Cabrera and Eric Aybar have both had better seasons at SS then Jeter.

Even though CC is scheduled to pitch next Sunday he should have been selected to the roster because of the season he has had 2nd in the AL only to Justin Verlander.

I'm so sick of watching a team that is 75% yankees/red sox representing the AL in the allstar. Jeter making the team is such a joke

also, its crazy that Pujols could return to the lineup TONIGHT. I was listening to Mike & Mike on the way into work the day after his injury (before the MRI results came back) and Greenburg wouldnt shut up about how Pujols is going to miss the majority of the season and cost himself $50M+. I am a fan of Pujols already, but after hearing how over the top and "the sky is falling" Greenburg was about the injury, I was hoping he would make a quick recovery and be as good as ever

I hate the Red Sox as much as anyone, but lumping them with the Yankees in this regard isn't fair.

Only four Sox made the team, and Ellsbury is the only one who wasn't an absolute slam dunk pick.

Mark Reynolds of the Orioles with 7 HR in his last 8 games. that's their only bright spot right now.

hopefully Jeter goes ahead and gets 2 more hits tonight so the media slobfest won't last as long

^i mean he's like 70 years old...he managed the Mets in the 86 WS iirc, that was 25 years ago

damn I bet Josh Hamilton has a little weight on his shoulders tonight, the fan who leaned and fell to catch a 3rd out toss from him died from the fall

some dude at the Rangers game asked Hamilton to throw him the ball after he caught a fly ball to end an inning, like how players will throw the 3rd out into the crowd if they're near a wall, and the guy leaned/reached for it and fell about 20 feet and ended up dying, I haven't seen the clip, but I saw the headline earlier and assumed some type of drunken idiocy but i dunno, again havent seen the clip

i just figure even if it was drunken idiocy, I would feel some remorse even if undeserved if I had been involved in it

Seems asinine in hindsight to have a gap like that with a 20 foot fall. Atlanta has that gap all the way around but you would only fall like 8 feet.

Didn't realize he was 70. Seems like I saw him on a show within the last year and he looked younger. Saw him on SC the other night and I had to do a double take. I was like. Is that Davey Johnsons dad??

as an Orioles fan, at this point in the season all i can hope for is a good fight against the Red Sox

but Kevin Gregg whiffed on Papi's fat face, and Papi whiffed on him. probably the worst attempt at fighting i have ever seen.

on a side note, Ortiz is 6'4" 230, Gregg is 6'6" 230. that would be a good fight to watch if they didn't suck at throwing punches.

there are now more all-stars this year than players who did not make the all-star teams.

this is getting ridiculous.

The real prop bet is which Phoenix suburb he mentions first in a HR call

Another good one is how quickly I say "enough of this shit, fuck you Chris Berman" and change the channel
