I think he's just alluding to a general but severe fucking up of the interview process by Kevin Anderson, and just happened to try to use a beastie boys quote to illustrate it.

poor guy looked liked someone shot his dog! i bet it is hard to leave a program that you have built and have good relationships with to go to a program that from the start will probably have a lesser team and worse record. it is a big risk for him to leave a school where he could stay forever to go some where with more pressure to win. cant wait for gottfried to kick his ass.

as far as i can tell UMD is pretty fucked as far as talent goes, with Jordan Williams leaving and their recruits decommitting, not to mention GW never really landed the highest caliber players

we'll see how good of a coach Mr. Turgeon is this coming season for sure

I still don't buy the "Miller was in the bag" talk. Whenever a coach is "in the bag" and doesn't show up at the press conference, he was never "in the bag" to begin with.

So LOL at the reports that Miller was ready, pen in hand, and the AD said some dumb shit that had him running. Please.

if the AD said something stupid to get him running away, then Miller was never taking it seriously in the first place. if he really wanted that job he would have said "eh, fuck it whatever". unless he told him he would have to run backwards, naked, through a cornfield once a week.

I guess it all goes back to Debbie Yow saying Gary Williams tried to sabotage our coaching search, and then people posting the Beastie Boys song. That's where the original tie in to the Beastie Boys comes from.

Turgeon did not really build TAMU's program. Gillespie did and Turgeon simply took over a solid program and helped sustain it.
