I think Harrow has a lot of potential but I don't get why we have to act like we just lost John Wall

I was totally prepared for a transition year under Gottfried next year anyways so it's not like we're missing out on a possible Final Four year

If Wood ever ran point, we might as well just play with three players

well, for one, he had serious potential.

and two, we don't have a true pg on the team now, and really only one guy who can run it (who is a more natural 2)

So he's taking a year off from playing and turning down 35+ minutes a game on a team from a power conference that is always on TV. I understand players liked Lowe because he was like their best friend or father figure, but for your basketball future why would you rather stay at State and play under Lowe in 2011-2012 rather than Gottfried in 2011-2012? From a pure basketball standpoint playing for Gottfried would get you to the next level over playing for Lowe.

This is incredibly frustrating. We literally don't have a PG next year. I like this staff and feel like they can do a lot on the court and on the recruiting trail in the coming years, but I'm going to be a junior next year and just wanted to see some non-shitty basketball during my 4 years here.

He's a good player. Lets not act like his options are gonna be Fordham and LaSalle. He'll transfer, likely, to a high major program in a better position than us even and hopefully for him in his year off from the game he can mature physically and mentally and contribute to his potential.

we are just pissed he is doing it... this just seems like a "wah wah cry cry im gonna slap nc state in the face for firing my best friend"

so he committed to play for lowe and not state... lowe is gone but guess what, he isnt gonna be at any other school either. this really showed he had no love for state and it was all about lowe so all that "love wolfpack nation" bullshit he spit at us can just be forgotten

my thoughts are that Zo and CJW will be swapping minutes at point/SG.

An improved Howell, Painter and TBDV could be the key to our season. Those guys have shown potential.

Brown played tons of PG in high school and is probably more of a PG than a SG.

Unless Gott has something under his sleeve for some JuCo kid or that Iowa guard, we're in some deep shit.

This kid must have the worst group of advisor's ever. I don't really blame him, he's just a dumb kid, but there is definitely someone in his ear that doesn't have his best interests in mind. Good luck at Alcorn State or directional Michigan buddy!

People need to stop complaining. We have several months to find a replacement and I'm sure our new coach can do something with what we have. Harrow was a whiny little prick and he didn't care for our school at all. This much is obvious. We need players who are concerned with the team and not themselves.

At least we won't get lit up by him twice a year.

Sure, its selfish to want to see some good basketball while in school, but I addressed the situation from his point of view too. All the stuff we heard from him about wanting to return NCSU to greatness wasn't true, he just wanted to play for his best friend Sidney Lowe.

I understand players don't commit to a school, they commit to a coach, but from a pure basketball standpoint, why would playing under Gottfried be so unbearable that he'd be willing to sit out a year if Lowe's gone? He was going to be a 4 year player anyway, now it'll take him 5 to have a shot at the NBA.

This basically waves a white flag on his NBA prospects. 23 is ancient to enter the league these days.

Brown / Wood / CJL / Painter / Howell

CJW & Vandy off the bench, both looked much improved at the end of the year

We can we some games with that lineup. Dudes are gonna be gassed, though.

this transfer makes no sense. he has potential, but that's it at this point. sitting a year is not going to help him get to the nba and why anyone would rather play for a losing coach and not give a far more proven coach a shot is beyond me. i hope it works out for him, but honestly the way he acted after Sid resigned, I feel this is actually better for the program (in the long run). If you don't want to be here, leave.

I like Brown at PG, he will do well. Unfortunately, we have zero depth now. Hope MG gets a suitable replacement.

Brown turned the ball over a lot more than Harrow. He's more aggressive with the ball and a better defender to boot. But he's definitely a score-first guy. Harrow could distribute better, and I feel like he made the other four on the court much better players. Brown is like a really really good Javi Gonzalez.

I never said he didn't deserve to make his own decisions. I just don't get it from a basketball standpoint. That's all I was saying. I hope he does well where he goes next, but I just don't see how sitting out a year is going to help him.

It sucks because we're not going to have any depth and I feel like we'll be worse off because of it, but if he doesn't want to be here then whatever. I just hope Gottfried has a backup plan.
