Patrick O'Sullivan was also born in Winston... I played hockey with a lot of guys from Winston that went on to play at rather high levels. Brett Adams and a couple Koffman brothers... I'm sure I could name a few more.

I think a lot of them were born to former Winston-Salem Thunderbirds players who for some reason decided to stay in Winston when their professional hockey careers were over.

I remember one guy, John Blessman, decided he loved Winston so much that he went to work at Waffle House as a cook.
