The losing Jussi and Cole thing sucked because I thought it meant we'd spend $5-6 million on players to make up for their loss of production on July 1st. But why in the hell is Chad LaRose making anything over $1 million and not playing on the 4th line?

If true I'd love it. I just wonder how much more they'd be willing to spend since they've still gotta sign a back up goalie too. I'd still like to see some kind of change made to the defense, and we don't have a true 2nd line center (or a center that can win FO's).

unfortunately, as others have stated, our problem is not necessarily our backup goalie but our top 2 D lines.

they need a legit top 15-20 defenseman, not a lazy Fin that hacks people when he gets beat. they also need an enforcer IMO.

Unfortunately he's no longer available as of earlier today (well, Columbus got his rights anyway), but I would've liked to see us get James Wisniewski to add to our D even though we already have 6. Last 3 seasons, he produced 24, 30, and 51 points, and at 27, should be heading in to his prime. Not huge, but has a good physical presence.

Anyways, I was somewhat surprised about LaRose earlier. I was working at RBC and heard he was upstairs, and I was all It seems that people don't care very much because of his fan favorite role.

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like we've got about $12,000,000 remaining and need a backup goalie, replacements for Cole/Jussi, re-sign Sutter (and potentially Stillman), and possibly another forward (unless they just promote someone extra from the Checkers).

If the budget is $50 million as JR indicated, we have $10.52 million to allocate to:

2 top six forwards (one of which will be Brandon Sutter)
2 third line forwards
2 fourth line forwards
1 backup goalie
