That would be a dick move.

You have to play one.

I could tinker with some things before the season starts.

i just think maybe the defensive scoring needs a slight tweak, if every single defense is projected to get negative points...maybe scale down the Points Allowed scoring, or cut the point losses in half for safeties or blocked kicks from -2 to -1?

i know projections are only projections but still

Here are the results of my 16-teamer (PPR), with pick #16:

QB - Sam Bradford
RB - Darren McFadden
RB - Shonn Greene
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Mike Williams (TB)
TE - Aaron Hernandez
RB/WR/TE - Austin Colle
DEF - Saints
K - Adam Vinateri

Bench: Daniel Thomas, Montario Hardesty, Lance Moore, Steve Breaston, Andy Dalton

Not very happy with having Andy Dalton as backup, but I got a few weeks to see if anyone drops their QBs for players that blow up in Week 1. Really wanted Ingram where I got Thomas (Round 5), but the manager before me picked him in the last few seconds. I'm thrilled with the group of receivers I have, especially getting Moore.

just wrapped up my draft. 9th pick, 14-team league.

QB: Philip Rivers | Jason Campbell(1)
RB: Rashard Mendenhall, Benjarvus Green-Ellis, Knowshon Moreno (flex) | Willis McGahee, Pierre Thomas, Kendall Hunter(2)
WR: Mike Wallace, Santonio Holmes, AJ Green | Earl Bennett(3)
TE: Marcedes Lewis(4)
DEF: New England
K: Connor Barth(5)

(1) - has the best matchup for Rivers' bye week, at home vs Cleveland
(2) - wanted Roy Helu but clicked the wrong person also can't believe I handcuffed Knowshon fucking Moreno and not the other two
(3) - wanted Greg Little here. No more eating while drafting
(4) - I feel confident not having a backup here, plenty of TEs on waivers
(5) - didn't miss inside 40 all year in '10, hope this continues

Money League:

QB - Matt Schaub
RB1 - Ray Rice
RB2 - Ryan Mathews
WR1 - Dwayne Bowe
WR2 - Marques Colston
RB/WR - Malcom Floyd
TE - Jermichael Finley
K - Mason Crosby
DEF - San Diego

Bench
Danny Woodhead
Nate Burleson
Deion Branch
Donald Brown
Aaron Hernandez
Roscoe Parrish (auto-drafted for me, I had to leave for work)

Overall I feel like it's a pretty good setup. Not stellar by any means, but solid for the most part.

Should I keep Chris Johnson? It takes up my first round pick, and it's starting to make me sweat a bit.

Are *you people* drafting him as normal?

i wouldn't draft him in the first few picks right now, but if you already have him i'd keep him.

to fully answer though, i think we'd have to know when your first round pick would be and what players would be available for you to pick there.

also, if you do keep johnson you should probably try to draft a quality running back you can start if he does miss the first game. or, in later rounds you could grab javon ringer.

Chris Johnson is a guy that can drop a little bit, but not too much- Kinda like Peyton... I wouldn't have picked him up way early, but if he were available after I got my running backs and WR, I would get him and someone else to play the first couple of weeks

Other guys I'm not big on but I'm see going relatively high- Ryan Grant, Marques Colston, Ryan Matthews, Daniel Thomas, and Chris Cooley

Peyton will be good when he gets back in the swing of things, and hopefully Johnson doesn't pull a VJax and miss most of the season (if he does, though, watch the waivers in keeper leagues and pick him up when someone gets frustrated and drops him- thats how I got Vjax in another league)

At this point you have 2 major concerns for Chris Johnson. Ending his hold-out and then coming back without getting injured after no contact since last season.

My RBs are as follows:

Michael Turner
Ahmad Bradshaw
Jonathon Stewart
BenJarvus Green Elllis
Ryan Torrain

Should I dump Torrain for any of these:

Ben Tate
LaRod Stephens Howling
Tashard Choice
Cadillac Williams
Jason Snelling
Ricky Williams
Dexter McCluster
Justin Foresett
Toby Gerhart
Ernest Graham
Delone Carter

^ I would keep my eye on Tate, if not go ahead and pick him up. He is a former 2nd round pick, has had a good pre-season, and with Foster having hamstring issues, playing time could be available.

wonder if McCluster makes a nice jump in performance from his 1st to 2nd NFL season...he was a sleeper for a lot of people last year and disappointed (somewhat due to Jamaal Charles balling out) but has a lot of upside...wouldn't drop Torrain for him, but might add him to my watch list

Trade Austin Collie for Cedric Benson??

Have McFadden, S. Greene, D. Thomas and Hardesty as RBs already, and WRs are Megatron, Mike Williams (TB), Collie, Lance Moore and Breaston.

The other guy went autopilot and had NO receivers drafted, and he has made the following available to get WRs (he also has MJD, but I assume he isn't willing to part):

Benson, Cedric RB CIN
Bush, Michael RB OAK
Gore, Frank RB SF
Jackson, Brandon RB CLE
Moreno, Knowshon RB DEN
Snelling, Jason RB ATL

Think that trade is reasonable, or should I go with someone else to target? I'm worried about Week 8 since McFadden and Greene are both on Byes.

^^I like the idea of keeping an eye on mccluster- he will get reps as a receiver, and if anything happens to Charles, he will get it as RB too. Not an immediate performer for ya, but has great potential to work himself in to a much bigger role

8-team keeper

QB - Brady
RB - Charles
RB - Hillis
WR - Vincent Jackson
WR - Desean Jackson
W/R - Ryan Matthews
W/R - Ryan Grant
W/R/T - Garcon
TE - Gonzo
K -
D - Jets

B - Colston
B - Dan Thomas
B - Julio Jones
B - Cedric Benson
B - Sam Bradford
B - AJ Green

I forgot Benson was going to jail. Would you guys drop him in favor of anyone else? There are lots of #2 RBs available since the league is small. Also have to get a kicker eventually.

you'd have to name names of who you could replace him with. as of now, he's only expected to miss the bye week. if gooddell decides to add a suspension, that's another story.

^ yes in all formats. Austin plays for an offense that will be wide open and chucking the ball around the yard. The jets like to pound it out and beat you with defense and physicality. Not to mention Romo is a much better quarterback fantasy wise than Sanchez

I got proposed

My

AJ Greene (Bench)

for his

Jonathan Stewart (Bench)

My other WR/RB are:

Maurice Jones-Drew (is he coming back?)
LeSean McCoy
LaDainian Tomlinson

DeSean Jackson
Pierre Garcon
Mike Williams
Sidney Rice (Bench)

Good trade? Do I have too many WRs?

AJ Green has Calvin Johnson level talent. I wouldn't take that trade just yet. The Panthers are going to be awful....again. Without a significant passing game, every team will just stack the box against us. Judging from what I've seen of Cam Newton, he's got a lot of room to grow in terms of consistent passing.

I'm in 2 leagues this year...neither have drafted yet. One of my leagues is a keeper...first time I've done that. From last season I am keeping: Chris Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Hakeem Nicks. I have the 4th pick overall in the draft and am wondering if you guys think I should try for a QB there? The kept (unavailable) QBs are Vick, Rivers, Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Peyton Manning. I know it's sort of hard to tell and depends on other factors, but I've never played keeper-style before and was just looking for a little direction for my 1st round pick.

Yes, I would go for a QB and then RB.

[Edited on August 30, 2011 at 2:36 PM. Reason : Aaron Rodgers, PRiv, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning would be how I would rank them right now.]

The top few QBs available are: Romo, Schaub, Matt Ryan, Roethlisberger, Freeman, Eli, Flacco.
And RBs are: Mendenhall, DeAngelo Williams, Forte, Ahmad Bradshaw, Jahvid Best.

I'd like to get Schaub or Ryan as my QB. I'm not sold on Romo. I had Schaub in a league last year...I like him, but he seems rather inconsistent at times.

^ How many teams are in your league? Looks like 5 teams already have starting QBs, so you can eliminate I would assume close to at least half the field in terms of whether they are looking for a starting QB. Add in the fact that Chris Johnson is a holdout, I would take a long look at the best RBs available with my first pick.

I would go Mendenhall if he is available. I don't forsee there being that big of a seperation between Romo, Freeman, Big Ben, or Ryan.

10 teams...and i was thinking along those lines as well. I may be able to draft the best RB available in the 1st round and still get a solid option at QB in the 2nd round.

I like Jahvid Best out those. Detroit is looking good and he was pretty good last year. Mendenhall hurt me several times last year and I just don't trust him as a solid RB.

Bradshaw, if healthy, is probably the most consistent performer out of that group. Is this a PPR league?

You can't trust any Carolina RBs right now until the Panthers can prove they can pass the ball.

I have the 4th pick in a 10 team standard ESPN money league. Is that too early to take Rodgers? I mean you have Foster's hamstring issue, and Chris Johnson may not even play week 1. I assume Rice will be there, but is Rice that much of a better pick than Rodgers?

QB-Drew Brees
RB-LeSean McCoy
RB-Felix Jones
WR-Dez Bryant
WR-Brandon Lloyd
WR-Santana Moss
TE-Dustin Keller
K-Mason Crosby
D/ST- Green Bay

Bench
QB-Joe Flacco
RB-Jonathan Stewart
RB-CJ Spiller
WR-Malcom Floyd
WR-Dezmon Briscoe

I think the team has potential, but there are a couple spots I would have liked to have had better players. It just didn't happen.
