oh ffs there was some complaining about the performance at the town hall. i'm saying that shouldn't come as a surprise because libertarians are always fucking disappointing. it's their milieu. jfc

god dammit next time I'll save myself the trouble and just flat out call their supporters stupid since apparently that's the level of comprehension in this thread

because gary johnson isnt an actual libertarian and he has exceptionally poor communication skills. a combination that makes him a train wreck to watch. he did so poorly in town halls i not even sure if i want him to be in the trump/hillary debate.

You should check out the Bernie/Hillary threads...

goalielax has been strawmanning-name-calling for a while

that's what liberals do when their arguments break down

okay...that's what some republicans do, too

I never said straw man.

I said ad hominem.

I understand how someone would be confused by that, and that's unfortunate.

Hillary said white supremacists are for Trump.
Trump softened his stance on immigration and amnesty support.

No politician is a perfect example of the party/ideology they represent. Those parameters are too rigid to be viewed as acceptable.

Good showing for johnson so far, I guess I'll bother voting for him. Any Bernie voter who doesn't vote johnson over Hillary should be ashamed of themselves

bernie was demanding an even larger government than hillary wants. I'm not sure why you think that automatically translates to voting libertarian even though SOME of bernie's policies were compatible.

it's cute that you are still denying that it was rigged after the whole world knows. of course she didn't do it personally but that's how power and corruption work. you have people to do your dirty work and return backdoor favors.

suprising but not that big of a deal that he doesn't memorize the names of foreign cities. he obviously knows about the situation in syria based on his response afterwards and as a libertarian who doesn't want to intervene, he doesn't need to know the geographic details of syria because he has no plans to invade, occupy or rebuild it in any way.

pass.

Sigh. It's a bad look.

The fact that the NY times came out and incorrectly identified Aleppo as the "capital" of the caliphate minimizes the damage a bit, but holy hell you have to do better on a day when you know you're going to get foreign policy questions.

Well, that was pretty much fait accompli but he is probably the most qualified and serious candidate the Libertarian party has put up in its relatively short history.

This is his first real gaffe of this election, and it was kind of a bad one and gives ammo to those who want to paint him as a joke candidate or unserious, "he can't be on the debate stage he doesn't even know where or what Aleppo is!" meanwhile Hillary Clinton is still lying about what James Corey said ND Donald Trump is so busy being tremendous that he can't nMe a single military advisor he is working with.

honestly it's refreshing that he asked what it was instead of just bullshitting something, i'm just not convinced that he can be up to speed with what's going on in syria and not know what aleppo is

people hung up on Aleppo probably couldn't tell you about Chibok in an on-the-spot interview. Seems a lot of people don't know about Aleppo since nothing's being done there.

Those people aren't running for President, and we don't have nearly as much involvement in the country which Chibok is located. (also the name of the town doesn't really come up much, as opposed to Aleppo)<1--

i think his boner for private prisons is far more disqualifying than not knowing a particular fact. It's all pretty moot though, because he will not be elected president as he isn't even close to winning a single state.
