But purdue did almost lose to Western carolina. Closest 16 v 1 game ever


Also #1 UNC fell behind by 11 points in the first half to #16 Fairfield one year when unc was great i think jamison/carter team. Fairfield was all white dudes and they just started bombing threes. They had a good lead at the half but they blew it.

Purdue had six seniors on that team. I wasn't very confident entering the tournament as they ended the year on a down note and I think were the worst #1 seed that year. Purdue had a lead of something like 8 points with a few minutes to go and CBS cutaway to a potential upset and one of the teams I think was VCU (VCU lost). They came back and during being away the game had become tied. The losing team (I thought they were A&T, you say Western) threw up a desperation three from the backcourt at the end of time that if they hit it they'd've won but it was nowhere close. I remember one of the scrubs as they headed to the locker room was kinda half clapping and my dad yelled at the TV saying "what the f*ck are you clapping for?" Purdue then lost in the second round to the winner of the 8/9 game...Georgia maybe?

it was definitely western carolina. that part i got right haha the rest i got mostly wrong.

And you are wrong they missed a good 3 and then got the offensive rebound and missed again. Both shots hit the rim. Look it up.
