I'm sorry, but benching Dirk is the Mavs' only chance at getting back in this series.

^ agreed, they need to get brandan wright into the game ASAP.

Dallas just got mugged on the no call on the charge and the obvious goaltend.

Good job by Dallas to hang in there based on how poorly they shot and how on fire Durant was in the first half.

They're in bad shape, but if they can claw back into the game OKC freezes up late sometimes.

^ He has 23 points what are you talking about?

Dallas looks REALLY bad tonight but this was the type of game we were waiting on from OKC. Just when you thought the Spurs were going to crush them, OKC starts to get things together

i mean he's either going to continue doing what he was doing in the first half and score 50 points, or cool down and shoot a bunch and "only" score 35

Btw...I know he's erratic and a complete ball-hog...but I really like watching JR Smith. So glad he never went to UNC. He would have crushed it in college.

JR is the man. I was really hoping that the Clippers could have picked him up when he came back from China.

Andrew Bynum, this is why we can't have nice things.

Nuggets fast paced high altitude gimmick paying off as scrub players are taking bynum to the basket all night.

The lakers came back with Hill in the game only to have it pushed back up when Bynum came back. I'm not going to say something ridiculous like Bynum should be benched but he's obviously not in good enough shape to play in Denver.

Harrington getting hurt is huge, nuggets so much better without him. Faried should be playing 35-40 minutes he's too good to bench

Not like anybody else helped him. I can't believe faried and Mcghee outplayed the lakers frontline on both sides. I can understand the fastbreaks but they can't let those guys score inside in the halfcourt.

Kobe had to have an amazing game to win tonight and he had a shitty game.

Denver pretty much ruined Kobe's life by dragging his name through the mud over some jealous bitch consentually fucking him, no surprise he's traumatized when he plays there

Actually he plays better against them than anyone else. Its all about conditioning.

I thought about the face analysis during the game. He doesn't realize if the clock makes it down to five, the ball is going to kobe and he has to force a shot. the kobe of everyteam is obviously going to shoot a lower % because they are shooting at the end of the clock. You try to get it to Bynum and if you do, he gets the shot he wants and shoots a high %, if all else fails you throw it to Kobe and watch.

[Edited on May 5, 2012 at 1:11 AM. Reason : degree of difficulty]

shots at the end of the clock don't hurt the team. the team is already screwed up when its late in the clock and just getting a shot up is a good thing at that point. if you took those guys off of every team its not like bynum would shoot 60% if you threw him the ball at the top with 4 to shoot.

^^ again, the effect has been tested for and the results just aren't all that dramatic

The guys who get the ball at the end of the shot clock draw enough fouls, pass, or get a good shot often enough that it just doesn't matter that much on a few possessions per game.

You really think they'd have a chance with Howard? Ahit, they'd still be lucky to beat Inda even with a healthy Dwight.

Howard best in the entire league? You'd have a legit beef until this year, but he's clearly cunted himself out of that discussion for the forseeable future. Its LBJ, Durant, then everyone else.

I'm sure it took a toll on his body. This season was designed to destroy the players as payback and it did. You can't count this season against him.

Howard would no doubt be one of those theoretical top-5 players picked to "start a team", due to his size, defensive ability, and youth. But I agree, he was in no way a top-5 performer in the league this year...dude looked like pure doo-doo. He def needs a change of scenery.

I used to call it Noah's ark because he lead a roster with two of everything. Its a shame what injuries can do to even one of the deepest teams in league history.

jesus, looks like harden destroyed the mavericks last night, thought mavs had that game.

Kinda crazy that Tyson Chandler was the difference between the NBA title and getting swept in the first round.

Wait, no that's not that crazy. He's just that good.

boozer just threw possibly the worst pass in nba history. Someone embed that after it hits youtube.

Taj Gibson is killing the 76ers today, wonder how long it will be before thibs realizes that Taj is better than boozer.

37% FG
22% 3's
57% FT

That's what Philly is shooting at half and they are up 2!

They are going to make me have a heart attack.

Spencer Hawes is killing it 17 points on 7/8 FG with 6 rebounds.

Jrue Holiday is 1-13 at half good lord.

These playoffs have been a major snoozefest so far. The NHL playoffs are much more fun to watch

I bet Colin Cowherd (and tww's version of him - face) will say differently though

I'm biased because I love the NBA, but if you think these playoffs are terrible you obviously hate the NBA.

It's the first round and some of the matchups aren't great but LAC-MEM, Dallas-OKC, Bos-Atl, and LAL-Den have all been great series to watch.

If i hit a 100:1 odds bet Philly in 5 games, am I annoited god status? For all the shit i hear anytime i lose a bet, I think i should get about 99 free passes on this one.

Not sure why you guys didn't tail the bets I wrote on page 1, everyone knows I always win big in the NBA playoffs

Another free throw rebound hits amare in the face because he has paused to put his glasses back on. Why does he wear them if he can't shoot with them on? You can't stop during a live ball to try and put your glasses back on.

^^This is an awful playoffs mainly because of injuries. The entire eastern conference playoffs are a forgone conclusion due to injuries. Two of the top 3 players in the Easter out for the entire playoffs makes it bad. Also NYK Boston ATl are all too banged up to enjoy.

The west will have a great playoffs but these first round matchups are not good. The only competitive series in the entire first round features the clippers who are no longer contenders due to the Billups injury so that takes that fun out of watching knowing they can't win.

Pretty crazy how Chandler is swept as well and make no mistake, his performance this year has been PISS POOR.

[Edited on May 6, 2012 at 4:27 PM. Reason : he's usually a great defender but smart defensive players around him enhanced that last year]

No question that Howard being out for Orlando kills any interest in the Ind-Orl series, but Noah has only missed one game and he might be back for game 5. Not exactly the "entire playoffs"

Chandler might get swept because they're playing a great team and the knicks have several players who stink.

He's had the flu and had a terrible game 1, but he was okay in game 2 and awesome in game 3.

I know you are being funny but the MVP of the league was who I meant by "top 3 player in the East"

Way to backtrack. You just said he was the difference between them beating Miami and winning it all last year vs being swept in the first round this year. If that was the case then they would at least win a game vs Miami no matter who his teammates are.

^ then you should have said one of the three most "exciting" not "best". Let's strive to be honest here.

I'm not backtracking. Chandler was the (real) MVP of the NBA Finals and the guy who carried them the whole way. Without him, that team was barely .500 this year.

Take Chandler off the Knicks and the team doesn't go .500. With him they were a relatively solid team, but the injury to Lin completely killed their season. Baron and Bibby can not be the starting PG for a team that is making the 2nd round. Not happening, they are finished in this league.
