The year I interned for the Hurricanes, Tripp Tracy approached our little group of 5-6 of us at the last game and thanked us for our hard work (which consisted of watching hockey and passing out stats to media). He gave us a $300 gift card to Sullivan's. Always thought a lot of him for that despite the antics.

Thank god he did that because that was the game where we lost to the Panthers at home for the first time in like 6 years, thus eliminating our playoff spot. We were in first in the SE for most of the last couple months. I drank a heroic amount when I got home that night.

I think we have this convo every year about Tripp.... I have always said he's like Craig Laughlin from the Caps. I don't know if any of you grew up with HTS, but I will never forget "Snow Valley Hockey!"

Anyways, I also love Tripp. The man lives for the Canes.

Played golf with John Forslund this past weekend. I've had the opportunity to eat dinner with him a couple years ago, but actually got to talk to him a lot more yesterday. He is a nice guy and down to earth. I had fun yelling "Hey Hey Whaddaya Say!" after a couple of his great shots (and he had a good sense of humor about it, haha).

He consistently wore one of those red UNC hats at the RBC Center the 3 years I worked in the arena, even during basketball season when we had a game that day.
