So what's the best tablet for your money? I'm not a gamer or big movie watcher, but that's not to say that wouldn't happen on a tablet. Mainly just browsing/email to replace a laptop that I hardly do anything else on. I will say it would be nice to have a way to view streaming movies on my TV from a tablet (now I stream on my laptop connected to my HTS via HDMI). My primary TV isn't a smart TV or anything; computers are all Windows OS. 12/11/2013 9:04:22 AM |

a win8 tablet like the asus transformer t700 might be what suits you best. quad core and full windows but ARM like battery consumption 12/11/2013 9:51:46 AM |

If you just want a small tablet to browse on, watch some streaming media, and maybe sling some stuff to your TV (though you'll need a dongle or something if it's not a SmartTV and you want to stream from tablet specifically), Nexus 7 will do it at a really good price and you get a great tablet. But if you want a "laptop replacer," something with full Windows 8 might be better. I personally don't think there's a point in trying to replace a laptop with a tablet unless you're going for the high-end hybrids. I think on either end of the spectrum there's too many holes to fill, personally. 12/11/2013 12:16:09 PM |

sorry, I didn't mean to replace all functions of my laptop; and I agree a tablet is a bad replacement for a laptop.
I just mean something to replace the laptop for browsing/streaming/etc. Any real computing will be done on my laptop. It's just a pain to lug around a huge laptop and be tethered to a power cord.
Oh, and I'd only be interested in a tablet with cellular service as well. 12/11/2013 1:04:10 PM |
