Obviously someone has forgotten the Super Bowl, trying to say bring in Kasay and kickoffs don't matter...

So much for our high hopes on Joe Adams salvaging our punt return game. Maybe we figure our defense never forces punts anyway so we don't need a PR guy.

Our special teams should get a huge boost from Jordan Senn going back and from Nakamara and Pilhares, but it still makes me nervous.

I just hate that we did nothing to address our foul secondary. We can't have every TE in the league abuse our safeties, constant broken tackles, and Munnerlyn getting picked on all game. Our front seven should be quite a bit better, but we're just not quite there yet. Maybe next year we'll be ready to compete.

We only have 4 more seasons with Cam signed for nothing before we have to break the bank. That's why wasting so much money on RB's was stupid. We have a short window where we have a huge advantage over other teams, we need to round out our roster now instead of just randomly throwing money around.

pretty sure Cam is worth breaking the bank over

and why are you so down on Joe Adams? did the box score of the Texans game not show this?

oh sorry it was Darvin Adams we cut. I just did a cursory look at the last names of who we cut and saw WR Adams.

Makes more sense now, forgot we had two.

we should pickup vince young as backup... mimics cam's game off the bench and wont have to change the offense up.

of course shoudl wait til he clears waivers and then offer him some $delaware instead of the $texas mario is making

in all fairness he can't be worse than clausen. He has got to be the worst backup QB in the NFL this year.

if we signed Vince Young, the first thing he'd do was hype up Kalil's ad and talk about us being a dream team

Clausen won't dress for any games barring injury...Anderson is the true backup, and they're not going to jettison him for Young

somebody called munnerlyn a good pick???

it would be if he were playing in dime packages, not when he is starting.

i promise you, there are worse GMs. if you want to argue over how long he should keep his job that's one thing. but as far as the entire league goes, there are only a few GMs who draft well every year. i'm all for having high expectations, but it's not easy to find a Bill Polian/Scott Pioli/Jerry Reese/Kevin Colbert/Ted Thompson.

considering we got Private Munnerlyn in the 7th round, it wasn't a bad pick

Making bad picks is one thing, but trading up to make bad picks is just unforgivable. It does seem like Rivera has reigned that in a little, and our 2012 draft class seems pretty decent (could be great if Silatolu pans out). It will take at least another couple years though to fix the depth issues created by those two god awful drafts.

Pickles with the TD pass to Darrell Green's kid

also, these refs are extra horrible...I think literally every single kick/punt return has had a holding/block in the back penalty called

did you guys know the longest field goal ever made at Heinz Field was 52 yards?

and we're getting mad that Medlock missed a 56-yarder?

Nobody's mad at the 56-yarder. They're probably concerned cause he missed a 50-yarder at the end of the game that would've given us the win. It's about the closest thing to a clutch kick you'll find in preseason, and Medlock missed it. BAD.

what is it about Heinz Field that makes it so difficult to make long FGs? in December in the snow and wind i can understand. but during the warmer months of the season? do they have longer grass or something?

Most of that stat is probably due to Jeff Reed's bum ass leg

"Even the Steelers players themselves thought Heinz Field was the worst among the grass playing surfaces. Using a point system that asked each player to pick the worst three grass playing fields in the NFL (three points for worst, two for second-worst and one for the next worst), the Steelers overwhelmingly voted for their home field as the worst."

Below is a list of players who have been cut that we can confirm. We'll be updating this blog as more cuts roll through.

If you want to compare the cuts with the projections compiled by Joseph Person, click here.

1:35 p.m.: DT Ogemdi Nwagbuo and DE Ryan Van Bergen

2:27 p.m.: WR Seyi Ajirotutu

2:38 p.m.: CB R.J. Stanford

3:20 p.m.: Carolina trades a future seventh round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers for S Colin Jones. The second-year player from TCU had six tackles last season.

3:50 p.m.: CB Darius Butler (former second-round draft pick by the Patriots)

4:30 p.m.: LB David Nixon, T Matt Reynolds, WR Jared Green"
