We had to leave early (two year old daughter) and Thornton looks pretty damn good. Like, I can't believe he was on our roster and hasn't played yet, good. His two td runs in the first quarter looked great - reading blocks, making cuts, attacking contact.

at the end of the game barnes broke off a couple nice runs, but for most of the game he wasn't doing the same kind of damage that thornton was. still, we need to see what he can do against acc opponents. i really like how fast he hit the holes though and how he followed his blockers. seems promising for his/our future.

Some people will just never get it. Just about everyone plays a 1AA team, some twice. We played UConn and UT. USA is 1A. Actually is a decent OOC. FSU, a top 5 team remind you, opened with Savannah State and Murray State. Two teams that The Citadel would whip.

on Shadrach Thornton's play, he scored 2 TDs running, but if you see a replay of Underwoods TD reception at the end of the 1st, you'll see it was a simple underneath route, but Thornton was downfield for a block that sealed off the help.

I don't think Underwood gets to the endzone on that play without the block. I was like "who the fuck is this guy???" Hopefully it wasn't just a product of the opponent.

Regardless of the opponent, Thornton definitely showed me something. He reminded me a lot of Andre Brown actually. Nothing fancy ... he just read the blocking, made his cut, and exploded through the hole. Plus he loves contact and always keeps his feet moving.

Another year in the weight room and he's gonna be a monster.
