Definitely shouldn't be starting Warren over Wood. We are going to need Warren as our backup post player for when Leslie/Howell are in foul trouble. Wood can't play PF.

Also, we don't need to do anything that might affect Wood's confidence as a shooter. We are going to need his threes this year.

It's going to be huge if Warren/Purvis shoot like this from the outside this year. 3 point shooting figured to be a weakness for us this year. If it's not a liability then our offense is deadly.

I hope Lorenzo does better than 1/10 the other two games. Nice that we can still dominate anyways, but he's gotta score more points as well

that's kind of my point.

he takes up a lot of attention, and then when they get tired of it he scores easily. that's a very valuable player to be.

Brown had 15 points, 7 assists, 6 boards, 1 steal and 1 block on 4-8 shooting against Miami(OH)

i'll chalk up today as being a little wreckless

pretty impressive win. Let off the gas at the end which is okay since we're playing three games in four days.

Just hope ZoSoSo turns it around, really terrible game for him all around.

Travel, and a lot of games ahead. We didn't play Calvin the whole 1/4 of the game. Still early need to get games like this out of our system.

In the long run I think a game like this can help them be better. Really need to work on D.

We're in a foreign country in an empty arena. Working three new freshmen into the lineup. With two guys under the pressure to show off for nba scouts. And a roster full of guys with very limited success who are preseason #6 in the country.

And it's the 2nd game of the season. I'd say all things considered we looked pretty damn awesome today.

We need to protect the ball better, rebound better, and tighten up a few defensive lapses but that team looks pretty damn good.

We're so talented that if we ever get to where we're playing great basketball we'll start absolutely rolling some teams.

This is great. This team might be more talented than any roster Herb ever touched and it has the benefit of not being coached by Herb. Let's enjoy this.

Good win but we won't shoot that well from 3 often.

Biggest complaint was rebounding for me. Oh and the fact that Vandy and TDT will need to get playing time this season. That's where losing Painter and missing out on Amile hurt bad. It's not that they are bad, which they are, but more that they clog up the paint on offense and are constantly out of position on defense.

I look at it as Gott giving Vandy time in a game we're already in position to win, to see what he can do, which was minimal, but acceptable on defense in limited time

If (when) we're in a nailbiter versus Duke or UNC, TDT will get some minutes, but I don't see Vandy having to get minutes against top competition

doubt he sees the floor against the Wolverines

Lozo needs to get his shit together out there. He looked sloppy at best and didn't seem to be looking out for the best interest of the team. The fact that there is a legitimate PG in the rotation now seems to be throwing him off his game. I think having Lozo and Lewis in the game at the same time is a problem. Seems like each time they are both in we stall out on offense since there are 2 generals on the court at once. The team is having growing pains in adjusting to the additional talent this year. Last season the starters played the entire game unless somebody was in foul trouble (Leslie & Howell) but everyone knew their role and they were usually in sync with each other. Gott has to figure the rotations that work and when to take players out when they aren't playing as well as they should be. So much potential this year its exciting to watch things develop in front of you.

Brown had a poor shooting night and he has always been a little loose with the ball but he was without question our best defensive player tonight so I think its a little careless to say he wasn't looking out for the best interest of the team

bunch of faggots in here.

Brown was terrible, Wood missing for most of the game, Leslie on the bench for more than usual, Howell extremely quiet - and we still won comfortably by 17.

We know all those guys can play well so seeing Warren/Purvis step up is huge. It's pretty awesome to have 6 different guys that are more than capable of getting 20+ points.

Announcer was real annoying. But luckily our team reversed the ball well tonight so we won. But if we don't reverse it and reverse it multiple times on offense each time down we might not win many games this year. Hopefully the guys learned that reversing the ball is important, and we can avoid situations where we get stuck going one direction on offense, forgetting we can reverse the ball.

Someone needs to drive in reverse over that fucking announcer.

Agreed, we know what we have in brown, wood, Leslie and Howell, so having an early season confidence booster for warren and purvis is a perfect scenario. Penn state isn't a bad team, dare I say it, two years ago we would've been in a close nail biter game against them. There wasn't a single point in the game tonight where I questioned if we would win handily

Brown might not play that bad again all season ... and he wasn't THAT bad.

Rebounding will be fine if Howell isn't in foul trouble (which is a big if, admittedly).

Warren is going to be huge this year. Even though that announcer was a douche, him making the Paul Pierce comparison seems dead-on IMO. Great shooter, great feel, just knows how to score.

Overall, there's a lot to feel good about after this game. Our best player was way off his game and we still squashed the other team. That's a good sign.

Sloppy ass game, win by 17. This is a game that would have ended up with a close finish under Lowe. We lost years off our lives, but we won fellas. Keep the train rollin', bring home a banner.
