Had to call in sick today

Body Games, great
Sylvan Esso, amazing! ridiculous bass, memorial auditorium is an interesting space too
Eros and Eschaton, caught the very end of this at slims. Was impressed.
Lapalux, awesome at first, then later devolved into a standard dj set. aww shucks
Kurt Vile, was too out of it to make much sense of it, but by all accounts it was Kurt Vile.

Wandered back to Slim's. Posed with the trophy and passed out.

Thursday:
VIP party
kingsbury manx (just wanted to get to sylvan esso early)
sylvan esso
marnie stern
kurt vile

Friday:
gross ghost
future islands
holy ghost!
high highs
local natives
mikal cronin

i think so far the top 3 sets i've seen have been local natives, future islands (no surprise), and sylvan esso.

Today was great. Swearin>spider bags(rocked as always)>gross ghost>future islands(fun but wished for more familiar songs)> surprise merzbow/thurston(!!)>holy ghost>wool>protomartyr>big black delta>local natives(a really fucking good set)>nightlands(phenomenal)>mikal cronin (fun way to end the night)

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper was the band of the night for me. It was nice to have a good number of bands I wanted to see in the same area so I could hop between locations quickly (LadyLamb, Local Natives, Mount Moriah, Waxahatchee)

Was bouncing around and decided to watch some Whatever Brains, a band I will never get tired of seeing.

They went on at 11:30, we got there around 11:40, and after one song, "This is our last one." I wondered if they had taken a long time to set up, or if they had started early.

They played a 20 minute song with multiple movements that kicked all sorts of ass.

Goddamn, rich.

Rose Windows fucking moved me last night. It was incredible and I fell in love with them. Totally out of the blue. It was like Jefferson Airplane mixed with The Doors.

The lead singer of Holy Ghost was a complete asshole when I tried to speak to him as he was just walking down the damn street heading to a show

Sad I missed gross ghost, future islands is always entertaining and A trak just didn't fit the main stage IMO

Loved the local natives set and mikal cronin was rocking TPH

So fucking pissed about action Bronson. I was really looking forward to him and big boi. I'm not even getting a dose of hip hop is year. I skipped big daddy Kane ... Wish I could have made some of his set

Big Black Delta fucking killed it last night.

Holy shit, that was unbelievable. That and the Rose Windows show are 1/2 for the festival for me.

fell asleep at the San Fermin show

they were really good but the combination of comfortable chairs, darkness, pleasant music and three straight days of Hopscotch just killed me

wish I could've made it to the Beets and Big Black Delta, but oh well

YES

but I had just come from Low: not sure if I truly appreciated it as much at the time

speaking of other things from last night, Low = awesome

and The Breeders were really good

It was pretty abrasive at times, as I expected (particularly playing a squealing balloon through some sort of distorted comb filter). Other times not abrasive at all. To be fair, I was around the corner jawing most of the time, so that probably took the edge off.

matmos just isnt my thing. i tried to stay and listen but it was just too much for me

i wasnt familiar with them and they sounded all nerdy and shit before their set. wasnt what i expected.

I left out Jamaican Queens from list for Saturday. The Hive should not be a venue for this ever again.

AND the drummer chick for Big black delta is also a suicide girl. i am in love

He tends to do that.

Did it in Miami last December for a few days. Popping up for random noise shows.
