Gotta respect Scherzer for shutting everyone down other than Cespy Dude was straight nasty.

While yesterday's game im sure was tough to watch for both sides (low scoring, pitchers duel) - at least it was close and looks like we'll have a good series ahead. I am worried for the A's that if we can't pull out this next one with SONNY, then its a long shot to win two @DET to come back home one more time...

Definitely the loudest I've ever seen it and the most packed as well. Really sad we can't have regular crowds like last night's, but there's a whole host of reasons for that I don't feel like getting into. Tonight's game should be a good one.

I think they made a huge mistake this season not DHing him more. I know the Tigers have 3 bats they pretty much have to keep in the lineup between Prince, Victor, and Miggy, but I think every once in a while you have get Miggy some rest even if it means benching Martinez once every 10 games.

I've been screaming it ever since they put him at 3rd. He was one of the worst fielding first basemen in the league, I don't know what made them think he would be passable as a third baseman.

I need to go check the defensive metrics, but he's probably close to being the biggest defensive liability in the AL since Jeter played so little this year.

^^ Probably has nothing to do with Oakland's young dynamite staff full of rookies and shut down bullpen. I'd go Scherzer on 3 days rest and 90 pitches if I were Jimmy and save Ver for 5 and get 90 out of him too. Anibal really embarassed himself giving up those home runs to guys who wouldn't make the 25 man roster at most places. The A's have two guys i'm completely comfortable with as a game four starter for tomorrow.

unfortunately, i only got the listen the bottom of the ninth on the radio, but it's nice to have a competent bullpen and manager though- made for a much less tense drive knowing we had a 3 run cushion and Balfour as our closer. as much as I'd love to go to another game at the O.co on a weeknight, i say finish them on the road and rest up.

All the more reason Melvin should always be manager of the year if he wins the division. He is always having to platoon the lineup because guys like Sogard/Reddick can't bat above the Mendoza line against same side pitching. It's a constant process and decisions have to be made every single day based off the oppositions starter. Sure, every manager has to di it once in a while during the year, but melvin has had to do this since game 1. Didn't Reddick even get sent down this year or was that because of injury rehab start?
