Young needs to be shown the door, right away. What a freaking waste. Embarrassing player and at this point he is just dragging the clubs name through the mud. I am glad Van Persie hit the post on that. We didn't deserve it in the first place.

Didn't have a chance to watch the other matches but Juve is struggling hard it seems and tomorrows match in Dortmund should be a good one. I think Dortmund wins it or at best its a draw. Arsenal away from home in between two tough matches, just can't see them winning in that atmosphere.

Oh and thank you all for contributing to a constructive discussion. I will be sure to remind you lot when your respective team's start struggling. Especially Arsenal fans who have been absolutely unbearable over the last month. I respect Arsenal but it their fans are just abhorrent.

at least young was touched this time

not sure why you would want him to go. He is good to come off the bench like he did yesterday. Bringing him on made united better. He created more chances than rooney and valencia did.

jd: Really? He was shocking, other than the one cross that RVP hit the post with. Young isn't cutting it. Gives the ball away, defensive liability, and just generally lacking any composure. I don't understand why United just don't give Zaha a chance? Outside of Januzaj the wingers United have this year have been absolutely horrendous. The fact that an 18 year old has looked like United's best attacking winger says everything really.

The match yesterday was very weird. United had no desire to push for the winner, despite having the better quality. Let Socedad have a lot of the ball, didn't close down, and the finishing was very poor. The deadly finishing has been absent this year and the desire of some of these players have to come into question. United were too comfortable in possession to actually create a chance. Movement was lethargic and until Kagawa and RVP were playing together there was virtually nothing created.

I thought he played in hernandez too but thanks to the good people of this thread I could look at that GIF again.

United did look better with Kagawa behind RVP but he was given space with a true threat from out wide in young.

The one chance he did create was still more than rooney and valencia had. Young is still serviceable to come one like he did and create a chance.

It was clear TCO had an eye on sunday with the selection and the way they played

Dortmund is absolutely ridiculous. Best match day experience in the world. Aggressive pressing and the crowd getting behind the team. Love it.

Napoli with a very quick turnaround. Up 2-1. Barca get a soft penalty (Surprise, Surprise)

Everything happening ATM.

And ETOOOO RECIBE!

And Neymar at it again winning a soft free kick. Barca up 2-0. There is that group decided then.

Dortmund's pressing is absolutely brilliant. Arsenal players have to be knackered by now.

Very poor from Dortmund and completely against the run of play, Arsenal score first.

Lewandowski channeling his inner Ashley Young.

I don't think it was that poor...it was mostly just a really well-worked interchange from Arsenal.

Varane's defending on Juve's second goal last night was "very poor."

Any fan section would react the same way given how that match was going. I agree Per was the best player on the pitch last night. Arsenal did to Dortmund what Dortmund managed to do to them at the emirates. Efficiency FTW.

I really gotta feel that Arsenal got lucky in that match

they deserved to win, because they scored more goals...but the final scoreline was mostly just a result poor finishing by Dortmund. it was more about Dortmund's massive inefficiency than any efficiency by the GUnners. in the earlier tie, when Dortmund defended like beasts all game and then hit Arsenal on the break at the very end, that was real efficiency in action.

also, in ^^^, I like how the wave stops at the bottom and then slowly trickles upward to nothing.

Dortmund missed two or three good chances in the first half but most of the others were nothing more than half chances. And Arsenal was far more threatening after the goal as well. It wasn't like it was just one chances they took and scored on it. Ramsey actually should have probably scored another. Arsenals back line was simply fantastic all game.

At the Emirates, Arsenal dominated the second half and got hit on the break at the end. If it was a two legged tie I think a draw would be a fair result.

I disagree..they were mostly superb, but they were opened up and at Dortmund's mercy quite a few times (free header for Lewandowski, the Dortmund guy in on goal late in the 1st half I think, several dangerous balls fizzed 3 yards in front of goal with nobody on the end of 'em, forwards straying offsides when they didn't need to, etc.) And Dortmund couldn't capitalize.

Maybe I'm forgetting a shot or two, but this was exactly what it looked like to me. Anyhow, Dortmund conspicuously had more opportunities; Arsenal just had the one good one.

Certainly Arsenal dominated after the goal was scored, but even then, they didn't boss the game like Dortmund did early in the 2nd half. It was damnable the way Dortmund fell apart after Ramsey's goal. But for me, they came off as the better team over 2 legs.

Not going to draw this out because it really doesn't matter but Per had two free headers narrowly miss after Weidenfeler was in no-mans land and Ramsey nearly scored a second when he put a close range shot through his legs.

I think a Dortmund win or tie would have been perfectly fair but that's the beauty of the sport.

I guess I stopped counting Arsenal chances after the first goal went in...you're right, though, there were 2-3 in the later stages.

At any rate, though, I'll definitely concede 'twas a strong, fine performance by the Gunners, and a deserved victory.

Lamela MOTM today for Spurs. Scored and had a great dribble through 4 defenders before being brought down in the box to set up Defoe.

Motherfucker is silky on the ball when he gets going.

I really hope today was the day he finally got comfortable.

yeah looks like a penalty. I wish players would at least wait until they're on the ground to start gesturing for a call though. Makes it look worse.

I agree. He embellished a bit as he went down.

He had what could have been a pen in the first half but attempted to stay on his feet after being tripped and the ref didn't blow so he already had a little beef with that ref's decisions and wanted to make sure.

Can't begrudge guys for embellishing when you basically have to in order to get clear pens. Look at Coleman last weekend... Clear pen but he stayed up and got nothing.

And there is a HUGE difference between what Lamela did and Young did on Tuesday.

CL fifth match day starts today.

Arsenal can theoretically grab 12 points from five games and still not qualify for knockout stages, though it is unlikely.

^ lol, I can't find the whole thing but the end of my favorite .gif when Adebayor scored and ran like 90 yards and celebrated in front of the Arsenal fans... is the opposite

I think I have it straight.

- Arsenal win or tie and they win the group.

- Arsenal loss by less than three goals and they qualify no matter what. They'd still win group with loss by three or less and Dortmund loss or tie.

- Arsenal loss by three or more goals and they need a Dortmund lose or tie.

[Edited on November 26, 2013 at 4:52 PM. Reason : barca loses last game and arsenal draws them in round of sixteen.. book it.]
