Those darn street racers

Does anyone know of a gas station that sells 100 octane at the pump? Blah blah yes I'd add timing to the tune, but I want it mainly for car shows, I love the way it smells.

Synapse is being a douche... On the street a drag car is more practical than a road racer. Driving a car that can pull over 1g on a skid pad under the posted limit is the most boring fucking thing in earth.

Dropping a 3.8 sec 0-60 is always fun tho and can be useful.

^I rented a C6 before I purchased the G8, the only time it felt fast was when I was going 1XX, or hitting a off ramp at 7X+.

^^ Lets say I'm beside a c6 like the one I originally wanted to purchase, lets say we both floor it at the same time, in 1320 feet I'll be ahead of him, going faster than him. So there for by definition my car is faster

^^^What exactly is your point? Under your logic no car is faster than any other car, since we all are supposed to drive the speed limit???? Do corvette drivers daily drive on a road course????

^^^^ No regression, I'm gonna try race gas and more timing, see how my trap speeds look. My tuner runs meth injection without boost, which is the same effect as higher octane.

I quite enjoy every car I’ve had that can pull 1+G on a skidpad. I even like just sitting in them at a stand still, I like looking at them, I like thinking about them... And, there are many ways you can have fun with a “track capable car” on the street, "about as legally” (lolz) as launching your car hard and going 0-60...

Of note, I did get stuck in traffic in an old caged/stripped Porsche in NY for about 7 hours in traffic years ago. I will no longer own said car(s) -especially without AC- or come anywhere near traffic of that nature in similarly uncomfortable cars.

Not really a kill, but I witnessed a guy completely demolish a 2015 Mustang. I assume he missed a shift and put it in reverse, hit the near wall, spun and ran head on into the far wall at maybe 90. 3 wheels came off (center of wheel was still bolted to the car) Just another Sunday at the track.

so i was driving my 240 to a car meet with a friend tonight..got on 540 and did a WOT pull in 3rd to record a log...after which the car shot a giant flame. That caught the attention of some dude in a black challenger r/t. Raced 3 separate times, i beat him every time. It was pretty awesome....then we realized he was going to the car meet too

Those dodges need the 392 to even be respectable. If my "muscle" car got beat by a 240 I'd go hide somewhere.

you do realize that the challenger weighs almost twice what my 240 does

a g8 gt makes about 320 to the wheels on a good day and weighs 4000lb..i would start looking for a hiding place now

Skip ahead to 6:25 for a preview of your future I will say it should be pretty damn close if that thing weighs what I think it weighs. Hiro took a ride with me, I'm traction limited on the street. Any chance I can convince you to bring your toy out to a track day. You have 2 weeks, on the 17th the G8 is going into my garage for the transformation. All I'll say about my new setup is 600+rwhp.

glassssssss moves out real good. Dead even on the hit (50ish roll), G seemed to pull a little up top but I think that had more to do with you having to shift while I was revving to 6700.

We both "killed" a Camaro SS. He wanted none of that party.

About 15 or so runs and its hard to call. The gear I was in had a lot to do with how much turbo lag I had to deal with. On the way back I started brake boosting when starting from a slower roll and it made a big difference. Anything starting above 70 my car is already in boost and its gone.
That was fun we need to do it again soon
I will have to bring a gopro for my own archives, mainly for the sound

It was a great time.

I need to get some video's of my exhaust, although a video won't do it justice. Anyone within a good 2 miles can hear me at WOT.

Ideally for a roll race in the G8 I want to start it at 40 so I'm at peak power in 2nd. The high speed rolls we did had me starting at the bottom of third (Car traps 118 in third at the track). Next time we should get Hiro although neither of us have anything for his car from a roll.

There was one run were I had to resist the urge to do a ricer flyby.

I wish that Camaro had tried me, I even paced him to see if he would take the bait But he was right behind us when we started a pull, so he knew what was up.

From 70 he walked out a car but we shut it down around 100. It's hard to tell in a roll race, from a dig he'd have 0 chance with that suspension and manual tranny. 290whp in a car gutted car weighing less than 3klbs, vs 430ish in a 4k car, 230lb driver and this



in the trunk.



I'll be in Charlotte at Autofair next weekend if any of the Charlotte area posters want to hang out. I plan to get in town Friday, and will be there until its over on Sunday

My car was making 290 when he was done at phantasm but john Kerr (nismotronicSA guy) has helped me revise the tune quite a bit since then and although I'm willing to bet we are over 300 now (not that it's a major difference but it can surely be felt)
