If only we played duke again. We'd have the potential for 2 wins against duke and one in the ACCT. But that might expose how charmin soft they are and ultimately hurt our RPI.

Terrible in bounds play when we are up by two. Half Lacey's fault for having the ball slip out of his hand and half gottfrieds fault for not making sure he threw it in in the backcourt.

When we were still up a few, before ND caught up with 13:00 left in the 2nd half, I started yelling at the tv because I didn't understand why we were playing offense as if we were down 15.

Burn the clock, get it inside to Anya or let Lacey drive it. Our free throws were actually decent this game, but we weren't getting fouled because we kept letting the 3's fly with 15+ seconds on the shot clock. It made no sense at all.

The announcers keep chalking it up to rookies doing rookie things, but Turner is a senior and needs to start acting like it. I'm already excited for next year with Lacey, Abu, Anya, Washington, Cat, and Martin x2 after having a full season of experience together. I have faith Cat and Anya can get their heads out of their asses I just don't think it will be this season.

This was my biggest problem in the game. We blew a huge lead, but then were able to get it back out to 4-6 points in the last few minutes and we had Lacey bombing 3's from 4 feet behind the 3 point line with 12-15 seconds left on the shot clock. I loved the fact that in the Duke game we kept attacking down the stretch towards the end of the shot clock, but our end of game play in this one hit on pretty much everything I've come to hate about watching State play basketball.

The fact we didn't bother to rebound at all on their final possession at the end of each half was pretty awful too. Let them pick up 2 garbage baskets, one of which tied the game with <2 seconds remaining.

Same old story, have a double digit lead on a resume building win then seem to always fuck it up. It's starting to get old and laughable. The phantom foul on Abu in the last seconds of the first half was B.S, but blaming the refs is ignoring the bigger picture.

Poor offensive flow in 2nd half. Too many jacked 3s early in the shot-clock, we should of fed the ball in the post to the Martin Twins they know how to draw attention and kick it out, or they are efficient in the paint.

I think they should limit their 3 point shot until they have shown they could hit it consistency in practice. Poor rebounding on both sides and porous defense. Barber played good defense on Grant but the kid still have troubles running the offense.

I liked that he was aggressive late in the 2nd half as that's what I feel he's best, but it seems like his game is very highschoolish. He just drives straight for a layout, doesn't really create space and never kicks it out.

Also, is Gott mad with Washington about something? Seems like he is playing better yet his minutes are getting cut? Anyway, I like the starting lineup of Lacey, Cody/Caleb, Turner, and Washington.

I put this one on Lacey. His step back 3's, missed box outs and AWFUL inbounds pass were all killer. For the life of me I will never understand the one handed bomb inbounds pass. As a Division 1 athlete you should be able to throw a two-handed overhead pass full court without issues. You don't lose control of the ball that way

Lacey is a baller but I think a reason for his poor playing in the end is fatigue. He needs to lose some weight in the off season as he plays an aggressive and explosive style and think he carries a little to much mass. He's not fat, he actually has a good percentage of muscle which makes for poor endurance.

Lacey also played 44 of 45 minutes last night

There was a point in the first half that I literally didnt think there was any way we could lose, we were beating them on the inside and outside. Then halftime happened and we looked like a completely different team when we came out.

I like Cat, but Cody/Caleb did a great job in the first half defending Grant, then in the second half it was Cat defending Grant the majority of the time and we got burned for it.

The refs were shit, but that always appears to be the case in games we lose at home

Losing Abu absolutely killed us in the second half (he had 5 fouls in 11 minutes of playing time for God's sake). He is our one big man who could've possibly stayed on the court when ND went with a heavy guard lineup, and might've been able to grab one of those rebounds at the end of regulation.

Oh well, this game hurt me pretty bad, even though I should be used to it by now.

You could tell he was heavy-legged at the end of the game. Shots were all short, and he couldn't get by his defender (who was a very good defender).

I really wish we'd try to play Cat off the ball more as a slasher/jump-shooter/charge-taker. He can help us win, but it's obvious the team runs better with Lacey at point. Have Cat guard the opponents PG, but let Lacey run the point for us. Start one of the Martins and bring Cat off the bench.

Washington has to be a frustrating player to coach. He's obviously got some skills, and his jump shot is incredibly consistent. But he also takes some incredibly dumb/forced shots in the post and refuses to pass 90% of the time. He also seems to be pretty poor fundamentally on defense and especially boxing out.
