ND had 6 to our 3. This really all BeeJay has to bring to the team and now he get's so far out of position he's left to try and reach from behind to block shots usually leading to easy layups or a foul. He started the season keeping his feet near the basket and letting the defense funnel drives into the post for him to block, now he's just chasing. But did you see him practicing 3s in shoot around?2/4/2015 8:02:15 AM |

I can't believe as much as the announcers looked at the replay it took them as long as it did for them to realize that Thomas initiated the contact. They did however fail to mention the big elbow he threw at the Martin twin with his box out on the free throw. 2/4/2015 8:02:33 AM |

Well they only played Zombie Nation once last night.
and the student turnout was abysmal. I would be ashamed if i was a WF alum. Half the student section was empty.
That being said, I was impressed with our fight in the second half. You just can't expect to win when you put yourself in that big of a hole. Our big men were downright terrible last night. It seems we've lost any ability to box out on the boards. And both Martin twins struggled as well. As much upside as they'll have in the future last night showed just how raw they still are. I'd like to know what Caleb's 3-pt FG% is for the season because his shot is terrible.] 2/4/2015 9:27:33 AM |

They played it twice, from what I remember. Once in the 1st half, and once in the second. And yes^ I was suprised at the crappy turnout. Had a good amount of State fans there though that sounded as loud as they could have given the circumstances.

We tried to scalp, we're quickly told scalping was illegal on WFU grounds, walked to the ticket office, bought 4 seats for $30 and then just found some open ones at midcourt. Thanks Wake 2/4/2015 9:32:12 AM |

This, in a nut shell, is why our team sucks this year. The offense is really predicated on big men who can shoot, pass, and generally make smart decisions with the ball. We have no one who can do all three.
Washington can shoot but is awful at decision-making. Freeman is a good decision maker but can't shoot. Anya can't do anything except block shots.
Abu is the closest thing we have to a good big man, but he's raw as hell. He'll be a good one, but he's just too inconsistent right now.2/4/2015 9:33:02 AM |

He has bad form, but he was making them at the beginning of the season. Not sure what happened.
I'd still rather us play small with the Martins playing the four spot than try to force the offense with two traditional "bigs." Get guys on the court who can make plays and play hard. Might hurt us some of the glass (maybe), but makes us much MUCH better offensively. Hence the 2nd half run last night.2/4/2015 9:37:37 AM |

Same thing I was thinking. He nailed them early on, but it seems like its been forever since he made one, seems like he missed 10+ in a row. I like the Martin twins when they're both in the game. Barber/Lacey/Turner/Caleb/Cody for starting lineup and rotate the bigs if we are getting killed on the glass. The funny thing is, it seems like we still get killed on the glass even with the bigs in.2/4/2015 9:52:45 AM |

Exactly. No real reason not to play small. The Martins could at least track down the long rebounds and give us a better chance at 50/50 balls.2/4/2015 9:55:16 AM |

Instead I am ashamed of being a NCSU alum, losing to a team who's fans don't even take their team seriously...2/4/2015 11:40:24 AM |
