Simmons is so full of himself. He himself said he was better than Hield. I'm glad the Wolfpack held him to his lowest point total of the season.

Cool mid-major conference title game on ESPN. Two bid league.

I think A&M will probably win it though..

Agreed. Kansas bracket is significantly stronger than the West. Oklahoma is the best team in that bracket IMO.

If Archie takes fucking Dayton deep in the tourney this year, I'll be convinced he is good. I don't have anything against Archie at all, just get annoyed at the people who think he'll definitely have great success in a P5 conference, let alone at NC State (Shit).

i dont think anyone is saying he would have great success at a p5. They are just saying theres a chance and no matter what happens with dayton, we'll never really know until he actually gets a position and coaches for about 5 years.

Well of course we'll never know until it happens. But there are in fact people, on this very messageboard, who think he'd be the answer and an instant cure to our team. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't.

He was in my ST-311 class, always seemed like a down to earth, good dude, to me. Just have my questions about if he will be able to recruit. And if he isn't able to pull in Gottfried-level talent on a scout/rivals *star level, is his coaching ability with less-than-Gott talent better than Gott's possible lesser coaching ability, but with more talented players.

Will be keeping an eye on Dayton in the tourney for sure, though. Hope he doesn't take an L to the Orange though.

Well whether you like it or not, his resume and highest achievements are on-par with or just below Gott's. Both have 1 Elite 8. Gott, however, took a team to #1 in the regular season poll for a little while, for whatever the hell that is worth.

What Gott has also done is given us as much post season success as we've had as a school in the last 2-3 decades, though this year was certainly a bad one. I'm sure if Archie has a good run this tourney, he'll get plenty of interest. But we're not gonna can a guy for 1 bad year when the first 4 were fine. Thankfully we're not the Cleveland Browns when it comes to how often we hire and fire coaches.

And I think there is some overlap in the Archie/Doeren camp. And if you are an NC State fan, it should be natural to be skeptical of a non-P5 coach with the way our football team has been recently

Archie is already a much better game coach. That is basically not even a contest.

I agree with you about recruiting and program management questions though.

Just really delved in to bracket. Des Moines is absurd with the history of teams there. Kansas, of all teams, has fourth most national titles of teams there.

He would be an instant improvement over Gottfried with no doubt in my mind. Gott is 52. Archie is 37. Lol at comparing their career accomplishments. Hopefully we are not all crying when Archie is winning at Indiana or whoever scoops him up.

Meh, refs kept Duke in the game in the 1st half, but talent took over the game in the 2nd half.

UNCW should have known they were done when Duke played about as bad as they could in the first half and were only down by 3.

So I guess they're no longer referring to the round of 64 as the "second round"? TV has been saying "first round" today.

I think Miami is gonna go to at least the elite 8 this year. however it seems like their success is directly tied to angel rodriguez. pretty much everytime he's had a bad night, was one of their few losses. but the guy is a great floor general and can drive the lane well.
