Eli is my starter. I just want two starters so I can swap them in and out depending on match up. They are also the only viable options we have left in our league.

Guy offered Tyler Eifert for Terrance Williams
Current TE is Olsen, and current top 5 WR's are DMT, Davante Adams, Anquan Boldin, Kendall Wright, and Williams
I could play both Olsen and Eifert each week, so my main question is if Williams will replicate > 70% or more of Dez's prodcution, because I think Eifert will be a beast. 9/16/2015 12:18:50 PM |

No he wont replicate as the #1 WR. He doesnt have the experience, physical skills, or frame to be anywhere close to Bryant and he will be attracting #1 WR coverage. Look for more Witten and Dunbar in the passing game and more rushes. I would take the trade. 9/16/2015 12:31:31 PM |

I'd also take that trade, even though I love me some TWill when Dez is out. He produces solid WR2/3 numbers. Just hard to pass up an offer for a potential top 5 TE. 9/16/2015 3:10:23 PM |

considering dropping Charles Johnson for Stevie Johnson in a .5 ppr non-keeper league. play 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 w/r/t flex & my current options are: RB: Jeremy Hill, Forte, Gurley, Woodhead WR: Andre Johnson, Marshall, Steve Smith, Tate, Charles Johnson TE: Gronk, Rudolph
other decent FA receiver options are James Jones and Moncrief but I feel like Jones is too TD-dependent and I'd prefer someone who's more likely to make a season-long difference than Moncrief

I got Dez Bryant and he's out for as much as 8 weeks, it seems. I really need WR...my WRs were already kinda meh after Dez to begin with. I have Colston, Fitzgerald, Doug Baldwin, Allen Hurns, and Vincent Jackson. This league starts 3 WR.
What's a reasonable asking price for Dez? Or would y'all think hanging on to him is the best bet? 9/16/2015 10:51:23 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148439 Posts user info edit post |
If you're gonna trade Dez, do it soon. If you hang onto him you'll have some jackass who tries to trade you a couple mediocre players for him when he has 1-2 weeks to go.
I'd hang onto him myself. WR is always deep enough where you can scour the waiver wire over the next week or so and find the emerging favorite targets of QBs in relatively productive offenses.
He might've been your 1st or 2nd round pick, but half the battle of fantasy is free agency and waiver wire acquisitions.
For example (and this isn't the most important position) but I picked up Brandon McManus today. Sure he's just a kicker, but:
- he plays half of his games in Denver with thinner air (already made 2 56-yarders in week 1) - if Peyton keeps throwing like a limp wristed Vol then he'll get lots of opportunities - if Peyton starts to pick his game up, he'll still get like 5 XPs and a 30 yard FG each game - nobody drafted him because nobody had heard of him during the draft] 9/16/2015 11:30:15 PM |

I had mcmanus as my kicker but someone in my league dropped Vinateri. So I made the obvious move of switching. Vinateri scored 0 points to the 18 scored by mcmanus...and I lost by 6. I guess I will stick with Vinateri since I think week 1 was a fluke, but that loss still stings!

^^I was drunk and didn't understand that my league required two QBs each week. I had already got Romo at least.
Then, I contacted a man in the middle of the draft for help before I realized it was too late anyway. Obviously, I was also just using the draft as an excuse to talk to him. I decided his tone with me was more dismissive than normal and briefly got emotional. And, somewhere during my foolishness, I apparently managed to draft Manziel as a backup cause I thought it was funny.
I left a slot empty cause I had already won and didn't want to risk my last player fumbling the ball thingy.
I beat six people!
(And this post has at least 11 mentions of myself, which is also pretty impressive.)

Any Jamaal Charles owners thinking of benching him this week? Im pretty confident he is going to have a terrible game and I have Alfred Morris on the bench. 9/17/2015 5:06:35 PM |

That would be very silly, borderline stupid in a PPR league. Charles gets very heavy usage, don't know why you would think this is a particularly bad matchup. Denver looked awful in week 1, KC is playing at home on a short week. This looks pretty favorable for the Chiefs.
Charles is an every week start as long as he's healthy. 9/17/2015 5:57:09 PM |

I'm just mystified as to why you would bench a guy who is consensus top 3 (and btw, ranked in the top 5 projected this week on pretty much every website) for Alfred Morris who goes against a St. Louis defense that shut down Marshawn Lynch in week 1 and is projected around RB20 this week. 9/17/2015 6:07:38 PM |
justinh524 Sprots Talk Mod 27837 Posts user info edit post |
I'm seriously considering benching Morris for Gio (it's PPR) or possibly picking up Chris Johnson. I'd have to drop somebody like Agholor(I really like him, but don't necessarily need him as I'm super deep at WR), Delanie Walker (I snagged Eifert on waivers and he's hurt), or Hillman (handcuff for Anderson).
So, TWW geniuses, should I drop someone for a spot starter this week in CJ2K0.6K?] 9/17/2015 6:54:05 PM |

^^CJ didn't do much last week in his opportunities after Ellington went out so I dunno if I'd trust him to be the old Titans RB of yesteryear. I'd rather play Gio in a PPR league than CJ.
^Buffalo's defense is also pretty stout though. Neither has a great matchup.
I've already moved Amari Cooper from my WR2 to my flex since David Carr is out (and plugged Keenan Allen at WR2.) But in a PPR league I'm thinking of either playing Sproles (home game versus Dallas) or Spiller (home versus the Bucs) in the flex. Thoughts? Sproles looked good against Atlanta. Spiller has a lot of potential in the Saints passing game versus the shitty Bucs though. Not sold on Amari against Baltimore especially with QB question marks.

Sproles outperformed week 1 last year as well. Philly didn't spend all that money on Murray so that he could play behind Sproles and Matthews; I expect them to lose fantasy relevancy in the next two weeks. 9/17/2015 8:24:50 PM |

I've got Aaron Rogers AND Phillip Rivers, but crappy RBs.
Should I trade Rogers and Doug Martin to get Jeremy Hill and Matthew Stafford?
Is Rivers a huge drop from Rogers? And is an upgrade to Hill worth it? Stafford obviously just becomes my backup. 9/17/2015 8:39:27 PM |

Standard scoring, short week, fast Denver D (not sure how you could say the D was awful was last week??), and a QB that cant stretch the field to keep defenders out of the box. He will probably get some dump offs but this isnt going to be a high scoring game.
Quote : | " a St. Louis defense that shut down Marshawn Lynch in week 1" |
He averaged 4.1 per carry. That's not shutting him down. He only got 18 carries.
^I wouldnt make that trade. Trade Rivers for Hill straight up if you need RB help that bad. You dont need Stafford on your bench with Rogers as your starter.

Wow, that's rough.
I'd go Morris and Jones.
Gurley apparently has been practicing this week and Benny Cunningham played well last week so I wouldn't be surprised if Mason saw somewhat limited action. I really don't like James Jones against Seattle, he seems unlikely to have a repeat of his week 1 performance, but should see a decent number of targets and Rodgers trusts him in the red zone.9/18/2015 9:13:49 PM |
